I called them late last night and they said that we should recieve them no later then thursday(tomorrow) at noon EST.

I, too, called about the arrival of said card, but was told that a "sampling" of BI/VIB/VIBR's were selected "at random" to receive the promotion..whaaaaaa? So, am I getting it, or not Sally?? Also, after reading through all the banned panic stricken entries on this thread, I decided to ask Sally if there's anything I need to curb/curtail where my buying habits are concerned so that I may avoid the fateful conditions several others here have already met..interestingly, she put me on hold, and when she returned she assured me I had nothing to worry about due to the fact that I never purchased duplicates of an item at any given time. Strangely enough, I checked my purchase history, and she was exactly right. Just thought I 'd share my experience :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

What a weird response about the gift cards, I've always received one and as far as I know every one of their bi's, vib's and vib rouge have always received one. This is getting real strange Sephora. And again about banning people over multiple purchases..... If someone really likes a product, why is it against the rules to buy multiples? Sephora's got some 'splaining to do.

Right?! And the strangest part is that she wouldn't confirm or deny if I'm getting the damn card..grrr.. I think I'm going to call back and try again with a different CS rep..my luck, I'll get banned simply from calling too much LOL

I would definitely call back. Explain to them that you've received them every year in the past and to be excluded this year is unfair because you are a frequent shopper and it would really make you rethink shopping with them.

Im finding the banning alienating. I buy multiples for MYSELF. If I find a product at a great price, I stock up for a year supply. Especially the hello kitty perfume

which I can only get a rollerball now so I have to buy a couple to get the equivalent of a full bottle. >_<

Seriously, it's freaking me out! I just got flash and just became a vib so I don't want to lose those privileges but to me it seems like sephora is trying to stop us all from shopping there.

It seems to me that everyone being impacted by the banning is VIB Rouge and not a Flash user.  Which makes even less sense!! Maybe because we actually paid money for the service, as opposed to Rouge, which wasn't specifically paid for... it's just a free "perk" that has no upsides.

  Question?

If you use the $20 VIB card (which I have yet to receive) and you have to return an item/items, what happens? Does the $20 card get credited like a gift card or do you essentially lose the $20 because it was more of a promo code.

Am I making sense?

I ask because I want to try a couple of lipsticks and I'm not sure of the colors but I don't want to lose out on the $20.
if you're exchanging with the receipt, its fine. if you're returning everything on the receipt you lose the coupon.

I get that sephora is owned by a luxury brand with super high markups, but they still have a huge overhead to meet to make profits...their stores are in very expensive real estate locations. I don't know why they are acting this way. And I cannot believe everyone isn't getting the VIB discount card. That is appalling.

Ok. I just called Sephora. again. aaaand this time a very nice lady named Yolanda gave me my GC number over the phone!!?! This is a FAR cry from the "random sampling" BS I got yesterday.. Seriously, Sephora.. Get your s**t together.

Oh, also, last month while my fiance was in town, I decided to get him a trio rollerball set of fragrances from a brand he loves. I checked online to make sure my closest Sephora (Town Square, Las Vegas) had it in stock.

I looked and looked and didn't see it anywhere. I asked one of the floor associates if he could help me. He said he had never heard of the brand and that Sephora DEFINITELY didn't carry said-brand, at all. I quickly pulled out my phone, went to Sephora.com, and showed him that not only DO they carry it, but they were supposed to have it in that very store! He looked mystified and looked around the store like a lost puppy. Finally, he asked the MANAGER.

"We don't carry that here." So, I showed her how the site said it was in stock in-store (very politely, I'm too meek for my own good at points- not that I'm saying this situation called for me to be rude, just that I'm too meek to be aggressive even when a situation warrants it). "Why does it show it on the website, then?" and to make sure they knew I wasn't upset with them, I added "this is just bad website management, then- totally not your fault."

The manager then asked the other associate to check in the back of the store just in case.

Guess what? They had it. I think this is another perfect example of the left hand not knowing what in the WORLD the right hand is doing over at Sephora. They have been slipping more and more faster and faster. It breaks my heart as I have been shopping with them since the first one arrived in Vegas and have been a BI since 2003.

i don't think its fair to say ALL sephoras don't know whats going on, because of this.

come shop in some NY stores, they're very knowledgeable and we're often told that NY sephora associates are the most trained.

also, i know in MY store right now we have over 1,000 boxes piled up in the back and its physically not humanly possible to know every single things thats back there right now :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Whoever posted above about Gimme Brow, I love mine! But it's hard if you're super blonde or kinda in between light and dark brown. I'm medium blonde right now and it works because it defines my eyebrows, but it's overkill if you're platinum!

Yup. I talked to a store employee about this sort of thing a whole ago, and it sounded like the stock gets loaded into the website as in-store when the stuff gets shipped to the stores, so there's a lag of a few days right there while UPS or whoever is handling the shipping gets it from the warehouse to the store. Then once it gets there, the store still has to check it in and stock it, and half the time, the employees don't even know they have it until they open the box, and that's assuming they're the ones handling the incoming freight, which is rarely the case.

If you read up thread, it's very clear that was not AT ALL what I was told yesterday when I initially called Sephora CS, and, if left to my own devices, I probably would have accepted the information she gave me as accurate, (that only a random selection of BI/VIB/VIBR's would be receiving the discount this year) and never even reconsidered calling back had it not been for various members of this thread encouraging me to do so. I really admire your willingness to offer your insight on this thread, and I sincerely hope you understand our frustrations are in no way directed at you, but the bottom line is that Sephora is employing some hideous business practices, that, in my humble opinion, need to be remedied immediately edited for spelling
