I went and read it already on the website before you posted this just to refresh my memory.  They can cancel at any time, for any reason, no refunds, yada yada.  Fine. Wanna know what my invitation said?  Recall my last post, that I'm not talking about litigation here, but my perception as a consumer: **Unlimited** **FREE 2 DAY DELIVERY** in bold.   No MATTER HOW MUCH (OR LITTLE) YOU SPEND. REALLY?  OR was Sephora just making a funny?  Is that why they're giving out *warnings* to customers as if that's not totally condescending and totally inappropriate for a business to do. I'm looking on my Beauty Insider page on Sephora.com, and I see the "VIB ROUGE - SEE THE VIEW FROM THE TOP" and one of the perks is free shipping on all orders.  Really, ALL?  Should I spend $1000 to find out that Sephora is full of crap and didn't actually mean free shipping on all orders?   Sephora has been in business long enough to know that if they don't explicitly state the boundaries, then they can't just expect customers will act "within reason" out of the goodness of their little hearts.  Look at couponers.  If something is not explicitly stated, they will be totally unreasonable on purpose because THEY CAN, where the stores end up paying them cash and giving them free goods for using coupons in a strategic way.  It's the stores who should get slapped on the wrist for lacking the foresight where that scenario was possible, not the couponer.  Not the customer.  The customer shouldn't "get in trouble" just because the business underestimated the intelligence of its customers, or overestimated their "reasonableness."
I think the majority of customers don't abuse the programs, which is why they probably don't feel the need to be upfront about its definitions. Sephora just wants you to spend money, and it's easier for them to handle violations on a case-by-case basis rather than deter you from the get-go. I don't think Sephora routinely flags or cancels Flash memberships, and when it does happen, it does not have a large impact on consumer perception because it's a rare occurrence. You see it as inappropriate and condescending. I see it as a smart business practice. It's akin to casino gambling and betting against the house; house always wins. Sephora is always going to write in the fine print to ensure they come out on top in the end. However, I do understand the frustration over Sephora's grandiose promises then not delivering because I am Rouge and that program is a colossal joke.
...and I'm over here with my popcorn refreshing this thread every 30 seconds :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
Way more exciting than a political debate imo. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Well Iike I said I love my 1.00 orders. On days I am having a really bad day at work I will go to Sephora, get me a bath cap, pick me three samples and am happy the rest of the day. Then it is like Christmas when it comes in the mail. Its cheaper than Xanax! haha

I'll be getting 3 of the $5 Nail Inc sets.  Two for gifting and one for me!  Shesh, it's just incredibly incredible...

Hey would love it if we started keeping an eye open for men-appropriate good deals?  I know one guy that'll wear the Disco Lane.  Girls just clamour when he wears nail lacquer, LOL... so edgy and cool.

Yes I want to spend all my Chritmas budget on Sephora but the men folks are a bit harder.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that!  I have placed small orders too.   :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />  I'm talking about people who do it all the time, or multiple times a day if there's an unrestricted code. Maybe they learned something from the ALMOSTVIB code and that issue won't even come up again though.

I don't know, I actually felt guilty placing *one* $1 order to get the almostVIB bag. I don't know if I'm brainwashed into thinking that it is wrong to do so, but I know I'm not going to take advantage of flash solely due to the amount of waste bring mailed to me. So much cardboard and paper packaging..

I just got flash and right away I know I won't make little tiny orders because I will feel way too guilty. I guess it all boils down to what someone perceives as right or wrong. But it doesn't really matter, if their accounts get cancelled then so be it... no skin off my back.

Anyone see this perk? Is it worth it?

I got this in-store. it's worth it if you like the lip color and it does feel very luxurious, but the UD has more products that I'll use more often. It wasn't a waste of 500 pts like some perks are, though!

Edit: Also, it's a necklace, not a bracelet :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Right. Sephora's TOS states they can cancel or alter orders at their discretion. Apparently that includes flagging accounts they feel are making too many returns, involved in reselling, or abusing their free shipping policy. The legalese gives them a wide berth of what they can do. I neither agree nor disagree with them. Just stating that these are the measures they've taken to prevent abuse and fraud. It's not exclusive to Sephora. All major retail chains have similar if not identical TOS.

I would bet $1000 that these people were never making "regular" (as in, more than $1) orders or also did something else "fishy" to make Sephora think they weren't legitimate customers, but people who got Flash and use it only to take advantage of $1 orders that they can then sell (samples) on eBay, which is a big business- I don't care what they say- and I'm sure when they told the story they told it to be as scary as possible and make people wet themselves and edited the parts out that would make *them* look fishy.. I can't imagine they would flag VIB or VIBRouge customers who are obviously spending tons of money- the bread and butter of the store- unless someone was doing tons of returns. Or maybe someone was flagged for returns or something else and only thought it was for the $1-5 orders. Also, for those who say some of us are "abusing the system"- when I went to Rouge, I was promised perks- I haven't gotten so much as an extra sample once- so after about 6 months I decided to fully enjoy the only "perk" I have- which is free shipping, no minimum order required. Also, most codes require a minimum- if you're talking about almostvib, I promise that cost them almost nothing to make (and I say this with experience), which is why there is no minimum required and they STILL haven't sold out of them.

Edit: And this isn't an attack on anyone- no matter how I might sound sometimes, I'm just a passionate Aries who needs to realize she needs to say things in a gentler manner from time to time.. if I offended anyone with my post, I'm truly sorry.

But on the subject of right and wrong.. personally, I think it's wrong that a company that makes as much as Sephora does (and overcharges as much as they do- see: My posts on their perfume) rolls out a new program called ROUGE and promises customers that if they spend a THOUSAND a year, they will experience a program beyond regular VIB- and then does nothing, breaks almost all of those promises. Just read all the threads on Sephora's own site in the Rouge category- it's nothing except people asking "I'm never even gotten an extra sample*, is this normal?" *Which is something they did promise, yes. I promise you guys, you don't need to worry about this company's profit margins- if you don't want to do it because you're worried about being flagged, even, that's one thing- but to think it's morally wrong for doing what Flash promised you could (as already posted), well, that's a stretch, IMO. But this is only one person's opinion and we should probably take it to another thread. I just wanted to add these extra points that hadn't been brought up.

I hate when that happens!

Every time!

I have two questions for you experts:

1. I purchased the Nars Blush Palette- this one:

The upper middle color- I forget what it's called- but for anyone who has seen this palette in person and knows anything about Nars, is it closer to Angelika or Gaiety? I've heard it be compared to both.

2. Has anyone tried the Guerlain Meteorites Powder for the Face? Is there much difference between 01 Rose and 02 Beige? I purchased the Teint Rose and while I love it, I wonder if the Beige color would be more flattering (or less?) for me- I am very light but not quite "fair," and I don't like to highlight the pink in my skin. Would the Beige be more flattering for me this way, or is there not much difference between them? Thank you!

I have the pressed version of the meteorites in rose. From what I can tell from owning this one and swatching the beige, I think they may be sheer enough that you could try the beige. Even if it doesn't end up working for you, you could return it.

Mistinguette is more similar to Gaiety imo. Teint Rose is lighter than Teint Beige. Depending in how light your skintone is both will work. I'm probably closer to Teint Dore, but use Beige anyway. It blends quite well.

Yay I made VIB! I went to SiJCP to finally get their version of the best kit. I was a little worried it wouldn't show up, but the points were in my account today, so I just went ahead and made my VIB purchase!! SO EXCITED And now I can go return that damaged Cinderella palette XD; I've been holding off because 1) LOL NO TIME SRSLY and 2) i wanted to have that 50ish dollar boost u___u I've spent so much  money on makeup this year sobs also, the favourites kit makeup back is soooo cute. It's really high quality, I'm kind of shocked tbh not that i haven't bought enough freakin' eyeshaow this year (I bought 3 more palettes in the last month SOB) but I'm hoping that i can combine the $15/$20 (lol if I haven't made the $20 by Dec since I'm making it so late) + 10% off from the VIB kit + one of the $10 gc I've been sitting on since the groupon sale to get the Naked 3. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> So excited
Congrats and nice haul! Have you tried the Korres Sleeping Facial before? I love it.

I do think making multiple $1 orders is abusing the program. The point, as someone else stated, is to increase the volume of mid-sized orders. Those foil samples are expensive to make and brands might not invest in them as much if people just keep taking the samples and not buying the product. As for the promo codes, Sephora probably won't be releasing any more with no minimum purchase.

I actually got this sample in one of my VIB orders. It was more like a packet sample. It looks like this "deluxe sample" is 2 ounces, which is a one of the full size options!
I doubt if it will be two ounces.. just used the code as I really wanted to try it out. Thank you :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Do you think there's a big enough difference for it to be worth it for me to buy it even though I have Rose on the way? Like is the difference enough to go through the hassle of returning it? I bought it when Beige was out during the sale, but I'm thinking if I have doubts, maybe I should go for it. Then again, maybe I'm trippin' and the difference isn't enough to worry about... I should probably get my butt to a Sephora store and just swatch and exchange if I feel like I need to...

I got a sample of it from Sephora once, and I loved it and was so sad when it was gone! It smells amazing lol. The 100pt perk is supposed to be 10mL sized, I think, which is 1/4th the full size -- so that's a $12 perk! definitely worth the 100pts.
