I recently (last year) stopped fighting my naturally curly hair and started using a big diffuser and scrunching. Of course, my hair looked great.

Recently I moved and tried a new hair stylist. She decided, along with the salon owner, that she should texturize my hair. I thought, cool, a new twist.

Ha!

It seems that when she cut my hair at the angle, it cut before the curl and now my hair is CRAP! It won't curl AT ALL! I have to put a TON of product in it, and make sure to diffuse it before it dries naturally too much. Then the next day, I have to rewash it and start over! ARGH! Plus I don't have enough length for a ponytail!!!

It's time for me to go back for a trim, I am going to say no to any further texturizing!!!

Thanks for letting me vent!

wow texturizeing makes my hair wave a lil but i have pin straight hair to start with

Sorry to hear that. Give it time, it'll grow back, and you'll know what not to do.

it really depends on your stylist but texturizing as i understand it is the way they cut your hair. i remember doing it once and i looked like a fuzz ball

But whats texturizing? Is it when they cut your hair with a razor? Sorry that happened to you dude. You have every right to be pissed. You should of reclaimed the stylist to fix it. Their job should be guaranteed atleast for a few days.

You should try some curly sexy hair in the blue bottle...it will help get your curls back. I have some at home so let me know and I will bring it to you if you are interested.

It depends on your hair type; it works better on certain hair types than others. Maybe the cream was left on too long, causing overprocession.

texturizeing is when they cut your hair with a razor or it can be done with scissors its kinda like sliceing and thining your hair and ends, it can look good depending on the look and cut you want, but it also can be bad on certain types of hair and make your ends frizzy and split looking.... does that make sense if not i will try to post pic so you can have a visual

MY LAST STYLIST WHO I HAVE BEEN USING FOR A WHILE ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED TEXTURIZING MY HAIR AND KEPT GOING AND GOING. I HAVE THICK HAIR BUT SHE RUINED IT. IT WOULDN'T EVEN CURL. IT TOOK 3 MONTHS OF NO HAIRCUTS UNTIL IT STARTED LOOKING NORMAL. TEXTURIZING CAN BE GOOD IF USED ONLY A LITTLE IF YOUR HAIR IS THICK.

I JUST FOUND A NEW STYLIST. I WAS SO UPSET I DIDN'T WANT TO GO OUTSIDE.

THANK GOD ITS OK NOW.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

Texturizing is very helpful to us girls who have fine straight lifeless hair, IMO.

I hope it grows back soon for you.

Same thing happened to me , I went back to stylist and she chopped more off, now I am debating on cutting shorter or leave it alone. I can not manage my hair at all. Good luck with yours !!

One thing I would like to say is texturizing is a good thing if the stylist knows when to use it and how much do you texturize.

I just let it grow longer until I really needed a good cut and went to someone good who cut all the bad ends off. It came out a little too short but now I only have to grow it a little bit. It was so messed up she had to go a little shorter than I wanted.

Hope your hair grows in the way you want it.
