The lipstick is tiny...but there is enough product to get a couple of wears.
Wow the rest of the products actually look pretty good sized, at least compared to last month's when I felt the box was too huge for the tiny samples! I wasn't super psyched about everything because even though it said "deluxe" samples I figured they would be tiny...But this actually looks like a pretty awesome box! (even if I do have to pay extra tax, silly CA!)

Its Kit B, but the only difference between the boxes are the shade of lipstick.

LOL!  Yeah...that would be no bueno!  But tobacco leaves smell sweet when they're dried so I'm thinking it would be that smell and not like a burning cigarette.  Hopefully.  LOL

Love how we got the shipping confirmations yesterday and my box will be here tomorrow! That's super fast. Count me in as being super excited for the Kendi Oil and the lipstick! I loved the fig Diptyque perfume from September so I am also looking forward to this one. Here's the description, which I found pretty cool, so long as it doesn't make me smell like an old cigarette:

French niche line Diptyque will launch Volutes, a new fragrance for women:

The voyage of your dreams. A long haul crossing, stopping off at a number of places with magical names, all redolent of adventure and spice.
Volutes, it’s a shape and a scent, intimately linked: the volute* and tobacco. It’s also the scent of the labyrinth of waxed corridors and panelled lounges, the mysterious, and elegant ladies leaning on the ship’s rail smoking their Khedive cigarettes.
Volutes was developed by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin; notes include iris, honey, tobacco and spices.
Diptyque Volutes is expected to launch this fall.
*Volute de fumée is a curl of smoke
I am super excited to smell this fragrance! It sounds great. Sample sizes are better than I expected as well.

Kit A!

My SS box (Kit A) arrived today!  Hooray!

Hi everyone:

Long time lurker, first time commenter.  I got Kit C today, which has the Pink Satin shade.  I have pretty dark skin, and this would look awful on me.  Let me know if anyone wants to swap.

Other than that I'm pretty happy with the box.

I get my box tomorrow!

I just realized that the hair spray in this box is the same brand that came in my last Glossybox. This one is Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist and the Glossybox one was Alterna Bamboo- Luminous Shine Mist.  I am exited to try it.

Got my box today and I love everything (except the perfume). I actually love that the lipstick is small. Lol. I'm Obsessed with small lipsticks!

looks to be about the size of the Burberry lipmist we got in the first Glossybox. adorable!

I got my box today and canceled. I am subscribed to about 14 "boxes" a month and this is the one i find has the least worth.

I am a beauty addict, product junkie and a definitely "been there, tried that" type. This is my first SS box and my initial reaction to the box was rather blasé...but after playing around a bit and I have totally changed my opinion to WOW. This is what a sampling subscription should be. The samples are large enough to really test out, yet they are still samples. (well that's the point isn't it?) And the discount code, really does make the box pay for itself. BB often times gives you samples too small to really base an opinion on (in my opinion although I do like their program) and GB usually offers larger sizes or full sizes, but that can backfire in a way. I feel guilty if I don't like or want a full size GB product, it somehow feels like a waste to me. (I have given away about 50% of my GB products so far) But when samples are truly SS sample size it feels more comfortable to dislike one or two and not feel like you are throwing away a 30 dollar product sample. Does that make sense?

Anyway, here are some of my thoughts about the contents overall...I will put them in the spoiler below...

The lipstick is AMAZING! At first I laughed at how puny the size was. It reminded me of "toy" make up I had as a kid. I received #42 golden brick. I thought I would HATE this color. I wear mostly nudes and pinks. But I was so wrong. It's gorgeous! I am going to buy it in full size for sure. (and trust me, the last thing I need is another lipstick, so this really is special!) So thank you SS for introducing me to a shade I would NEVER think of trying. And now I love!

The Dermologica pre-cleanse is awesome! Great brand. Good cleanser. And perfect for travel!

The Diptyque fragrance was surprising. The ingredients sounded gross to me. I love clean crisp greens and more fruity floral scents. Plus this is a typical tiny freebie size. I thought I would despise it...but I am intrigued! I actually really like it!!!! Don't think I will buy the full size, but I will use up the rest of the sample for sure!

The Alterna hair oil. I can't tell you have many oils I have and haven't used. I went to Morocco 2 years ago and still have vats of unopened pure Argan in my cabinet. But I gave this oil a quick spritz and immediately feel in love with the fragrance and the light shine it gave my hair.

The L'occitane hand cream. I have about 5 sample sizes of these (thank you Sephora). I certainly don't need another, but I am glad I have it. This is a fab cult product and I will always welcome more shea butter into my life!

So there you have it. A mini review!

Very happy with my first SS.

What other subscription services do you love?

What are you favorite subs? This was my first SS box and I was initially meh about it, but now I am pretty pleased.

The lippie looks bigger than the other one we received a few months back. I am super excited for some more Dermalogica..can't wait to try it out.

My favorite subs currently are

glossy box (i have loved nearly all of the products i have received and have used them until completion)

julep -i haven't paid for a month since June because of their rewards program. I paint my nails up to 4 times a week so i like having a lot of opinions and i always enjoy their extras

Ipsy/glam bag- love this one because there are always full size items thrown in and its mainly cosmetics

I don't really like my birch box, beauty army, or look bag any more

i am currently subscribed to about 14 monthly boxes.

I didn't like sample society because i found the quality to be lacking and the samples i received are like or the same thing i also received in my cheaper birch box  and beauty army. To me it just wasnt worth it. If this is your only box then i see it as a value but if you have other sample boxes its not worth it you know?
