Sample Society: November 2012

not going to lie, I kind of like this box. I'm excited to try the stuff. I still don't like the "frosted orange pink" lipstick. it feels a little "kid-ish" but I love everything else. I don't plan on using the perfume as actual perfume, its SUPER strong. but it smells EXACTLY like my Bath and Body Works "Twilight Woods" room fragrances (the little glass bulbs full of oil that you put into the plug-ins) and I'm out of that, so I'll probably spray it around my room. the hair oil sample is surprisingly big!! I'm excited to try that as well

I'm getting the pink if you'd like to swap.   I have so many pink lipsticks from subs that I'd just like to try something else.

I am looking forward to this box for the most part...minus the hair oil. I have so many hair oils between SS and BB. I use them every once in a while but sheesh! Perfume samples and hair oil samples need to be few and far between for a while so we the subscribers can use us the ones that we have already!

Got my box.  The lipstick size is too cute.  Anyone remember the Avon samples?  My mom used to work for Avon corporate, and I remember playing with them as a little kid.  

Another great box from SS.  

I currently have GB, SS, and BB subs.  I find that SS is my fave.  Don't get me wrong, GB is great, but I agree with what someone earlier posted--about feeling guilty/ungrateful for not liking the full size item that comes.

When you find the right hair oil for you, you'll probably use it more. Took me a long time to find one that pleased me as far as texture and scent. I have straight hair so a lot of the oils are way too heavy on me.

I think we all get tired of whatever we have most of. The two things I never get tired of are regular lipsticks and nail polish.

My box was delivered today.  I haven't tried the samples yet, but I think I'm going to like them all!   I really like the perfume, which totally surprised me since I absolutely hated  the sample from the same brand that I rec'd a couple of months of ago.  I rec'd the lipstick in pink.  It's pretty, and I like the texture.

I use Orofluido on a daily basis.  I LOVE it, but I'm not opposed to trying different types and brands.  The Orofluido completely changed my hair, and I dont see myself giving that up anytime soon.  We had the hurricaine last week and a nor'easter yesterday and today (I'm in MA, and it was no near as bad as NY and NJ), I used a little extra Orofluido, and my hair didnt look like crazy lady hair, and no frizz!  My hair used to be a total frizz ball and stick up everywhere with one side curly and one side straight, at the slightest hint of humidity.  Anyway, I will wait for a dry, precipitation free day to try the Alterna bamboo oil.  Also, I really like the Couture Color oil that came in last months Ipsy. 

I have never tried a Dermalogica product, and had been wanting to try the precleanser so I'm psyched to get that.  Its also a good size sample, as well as the Murad cleanser.  I love L'Occitane shea hand cream and this sample is perfect to keep in my lab coat pocket at work.  I work in healthcare and wash my hands 30 times a day, plus use a lot of Calstat, so my hands get really dry. 

I keep smelling my wrist.  I really, really like this perfume, and I am very fussy when it comes to fragrance.

If anyone is interested, the Sephora It-Kit that the are giving away with a 25.00 purchase is outstanding.  9 deluxe samples.  I chose It-kit # 2 classic, and it contains 9 deluxe samples.  One of them is Nars Velvet Gloss lip pencil and I think it may be the full size.  The shade is New Lover and is gorgeous.

I picked the exact same kit! Getting it tomorrow!I think it's the best option of all 3!

 Overall I am satisfied with this box, like someone said before we are signing up for samples and that's what we are getting, this was my first SS box and I loved it!Totally keeping the sub /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> (luckily I have an awesome bf that pays for it cuz I can't work)

 I love most of the things I got, but my nose is really sensitive to strong smells and they also give me a headache, I was super excited to get the L'Occitane moisturizer, but the smell makes my nose super itchy and it doesn't go away fast that kinda sucks, besides that, it gets absorbed easily to my skin which is great.

 I love the lip stick I got, it's the Frost Golden Brick and when I saw it I was like: no way this will look good on me, cuz it look kinda orange-brownish, but was I wrong! it looks great, the color is kinda like my real lip color so it just brings my lips out and adds glitter, but I like that.

 I love the smell of the oil and I used it yesterday before I blow dried my hair(which btw is the one thing I hate about this cold weather, I'm from Costa Rica and my hair usually air dries, but it's so cold here(upstate NY) and I showered late so I knew I needed help), usually after I blow dry my hair it looks dry and dead, but this gave it shine without looking oily and it smells so fresh, I loved it!

 I haven't tried out dermalogica products ever, but I'm super excited to try this one!

I just got that Sephora IT KIT in the mail the other day and I love it! The Nars lipstick is not full size but a really fantastic more than half size. And the color is gorgeous! I was so impressed with the IT KIT, i just placed another Sephora order to get kit 3...the one that comes with the Laura Mercier facial polish and Urban Decay make up setting spray etc. 

As far as SS goes, this was my first box and I was quite pleased. I really fell in love with the Diego Dalla Palma lipstick in #42 frosted golden brick. It's a color I would NEVER have tried, thinking it was not for me...and I love it. I look forward to December's box. 

Did they do anything special last year for the holiday?

I think you should cave /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> If the Sephora It Kit was a paid subscription box, you would be thrilled. And it's free! It's one of the better perks I've seen on their site and they have fantabulous perks! Sorry for talking about Sephora on a SS site, but I have to share a Sephora find with all of you. They have some great items on sale now...one of which is the Sephora and Pantone eyeshadow palette. It is stunning. The colors are glorious and the packaging is spectacular...it is sleek, chic and looks like an IPAD with a giant mirror....it is currently on sale for $17! Which is insane! I bought one when it went on sale and just bought 3 more as gifts (to get the additional It Kit plus free shipping). I highly reco this. It's a great holiday present. Only downside...the pigmentation is not intense. But it's build-able. In some ways I prefer that, especially with very vibrant shades, it gives you control. But it is a negative to some, but not to me.

Now back to SS. Very happy with my very first box. I like it a lot more than BB so far. It may be my 2nd favorite behind GB.

i didn't realize it was so new. Well this will be interesting (and fun!) to experience!  I would hope they would give us something glittery, and good enough so we would want to keep our subscriptions going in the New Year.

I totally agree about the #42 lipstick. It's heavenly. I didn't think i would like it but I love! Will order full size for sure!
