i am planning to learn how to curl my hair with a curling iron (after years of straightening it everyday!) and every time i do it, it just doesnt seem to last very long! by afternoon, my hair is almost straight again!!

are there any lotions/sprays/shampoos/serums so i could easily curl my hair and make it last long?
i have very fine thin hair, so it's hard for me to find a product that doesn't way my hair down.

I use Alberto I believe it is.......stuff that you spray on each section right before you put the curling iron to it, it works great. There are many different brands....if I don't use some kind of curl spray my hair goes flat too.

Okay I lie it's not alberto...it's got2b, here's a pic

tresemme curl locking spray. i just spray sections after i curl it. also, i use hairspray after that. i don't like the stiff feeling but you kinda have to make it that way to hold.

I was born with super straight hair and when I want it curly, I use John Freida's "Dream Curls" spray on my semi-dry hair and roll it in hot rollers. Leave in for about 20-25 min. and I have curls all day. Also, my hair is about two inches past my bra strap so I have long hair and it still stays curly....

Hold the section you're about to curl, comb it with a fine brush so that theres no knots, etc, hold it taut, lightly spray it with some hairspray and then roll it with the curling iron..wait about 10 secs, slide the roller out and then spray again at an arm's distance.

i use to work in a salon and thats how we set the curls.

hope it helps!

I agree with candykins! Work in a hair salon and that's what we use to hold curls for weddings and things, I have even used it myself and it work pretty well! Also, try a shampoo and conitioner made for curls, I know Sunsilk have a new coloured range out and I'm sure they'd have one for curls! XxX

Ok here's a few tips.....

1.) First, Buy ceramic curling irons instead of the nromal, old metal irons. The ceramic kind has a much high temp, thus locking in the curls longer. And no, just because the higher temp, there's no further damage because of the chemical makeup of the ceramic and your hair.

2.) Do not put any shine sprays or silicone serums in your hair before you curls. Opto to use styling products after. You can spray hairspray on the curl while you are curling. But wait to use any other product till after your hair is curled.

3.) Use a heat setting spray. Not only will it protect your hair, it will lock in the curl and most you can't even feel the product.

Hope that helps!!!

I'm gonna try that spray, since your hair and mine seem to be exactly the same.
