Princess hairstyles are beautiful and classic, a great option for any evening look and an essential to know with the fast approaching ball season.
We show you three simple yet elegant princess hairstyles, which will be a beautiful finish to any glamorous outfit.
Swept away
Swept back hair is a great option for those of us who are more comfortable wearing our hair down than up. Simple yet stunning the look creates princess like hair in minutes.
Mist hair with a spray bottle so it’s slightly damp and then apply a shine serum and anti-frizz serum to make your hair sleek and shiny. Applying the product to slightly damp hair means you will get smoother results.
At this point you need to decide whether you would like a flat sleek look or a curly tousled look, as in the picture. If you would like smooth and sleek now is the time to straighten your hair using a blow-dryer and brush or alternatively with a hair straightener or iron. If you would prefer curly then leave your hair natural.
Form a side part by running a finger or comb down a part on the side of your head and flicking hair over to its ‘natural’ place.
On the side of you head where your hair is parted with less hair take a beret and pin that section of hair just above your ear. If you would like a sleek look you should end your styling here, if you would like the pictured curls simply take a ringlet curling iron and curl the bottom two thirds of your hair in small sections and spray with hairspray to hold.
Relaxed princess
Who said ball hair had to be prim and proper? Scarlett Johansson shows us that a simple pulled back bun can be transformed with a sexy tousle into a young and funky look, glamorous enough to walk the red carpet.
If you have straight hair you will want to use heated roller to create texture or a salt spray. If using salt spray apply liberally onto hair and scrunch and wind hair until it dries.
Spray hair with a hair gloss or a shine serum so it looks naturally healthy and vibrant
Separate your hair into two sections, one part should consist on the front part of your hair or your fringe and the other the remainder of your hair.
Whilst keeping your fringe out, pull back your hair to form a pony tail on the middle of the back of your head. Be careful not to flatten or smooth out your hair whilst doing this, instead allow your hair to naturally curl and look ‘uneven’. Then pin and tie into a bun by separating your ponytail into two sections and wrapping these clockwise around the base of your ponytail. Secure with bobby pins.
Volumise your fringe using salt spray or by back combing and using hair spray and pin this back using bobby pins.
The down do
If your hair is very short, or the idea of doing anything as complicated as using hair spray and heated curlers makes you want to cringe then never fear there is perfectly pretty princess hair for you too. Simply brush through some frizz serum and style with style balm, mousse or hairspray. Then reach for the hair accessories such as tiaras, berets, or hair pins to dress up your ‘everyday’ hair. You can get these items cheaply at places like the Two Dollar Shop, the Warehouse, craft-stores or try Kleins.
