are prenatal vitamins safe for people that aren't pregnant? I've always heard such good things it does to hair skin and was interested in taking them. anyone who wasnt pregnant take it with good results?

i still take my prenatal vitamins i know alot of people that arent pregnant and take them, they are very good for you. i say do it!

I've been taking prenatal vitamins for about 6 months! I'm planning to start trying to get pregnant next month, so I've been taking them to make sure I have enough folic acid! It hasn't hurt me at all! A lot of women take them to help their hair and nails grow!

Good luck, April!

They are great even for women who are not trying to get pregnant! I've taken them in the past. My nails are and have always been very healthy but I took them hoping it would help my hair grow more. I didn't notice any difference but it's still a great vitamin if you're looking for one. My preferance now though is liquid vitamins as it's the only ones i've ever noticed and felt such a difference from.

I know several of my friends have been put on them by their doctors for lack of energy/fatigue, when they were not/not planning on getting pregnant. I think they're fine to take.

I herd Biotin works good too my friends hair was like an inch past her ears in the end of june so she decided to take Biotin and like in the beginning of october her hair was like a little bit past her shoulders && she trimmed it like once a month too so it works pretty well

i'd take somthing to help my hair grow but i'd rather it grow slow since I have highlights and I can save $$ on getting my hair colored

Best of luck April! I see nothing wrong with taking pre-natal vitamins if you're not pregnant or planning to conceive. I've heard they're great even then!

I have been taking prenatals for 10 years. My younger sister just started taking them. I think they are a great multi vitamin. I also take extra calcium.

wow , i never knew they could be taken anytime like that, thx for the responses ladies

Bumping this up...so is it safe? Here is my issue. I just got my acrylics taken off and my nails are a wreck. I am using Sally Hansen but someone told me to take prenatal pills. Should I?

They are fine to take. My daughter takes them just for the extra vitamins and minerals and she has beautiful skin, hair and nails.

Nausea with any vitamin supplement is a common complaint. Just make sure you always eat a little something and it might help to take them at night.

i stopped taking them after i had my surgery only because it was a bit of a reminder. but ive thought about starting to take them again to see if they help with my skin.

I take Nature's Way Alive Multi-Vitamins and add biotin, flax seed oil, MSM, and calcium. Seems like a lot but my normally thin peeling nails are HARD now and my hair and skin are looking better than ever.

They are definitely safe to take. They made my hair grow a lot, but unfortunately did nothing for my nails. I was sad about that, because my best friend took them and they made her nails extremely strong and GORGEOUS. Being pregnant twice, I took two different kinds of vitamins, and one made me nausous and one didn't. You should try it...
