As far as I know, there is no way... Unfortunately! I've been dealing with porous hair myself from years of over-processing it. I haven't figured out a way yet, and according to my stylist, there's nothing I can do about it :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Does is retain water and take longer to dry when it's porous? That's what mine does but I thought that was better than dry hair. Maybe i'm confused what porous hair is.

Here's from my stylist: "Porous hair is hair that has had the cuticle opened by overprocessing. It tends to be brittle and fragile and it absorbs water like a sponge and dries very slowly."

There is nothing that can heal it except to let the damaged hair grow out. However, certain products coat the hair and can help to create an artifical seal over the cuticle. I know that Fructis is a product line that uses these ingredients.

Hope this helps!

All porous hair is not necessarily from overprocessing. Some hair types are naturally porous. The is nor way to permanently alter porous hair, but Roux Porosity Control shampoo and conditioner can help some.
