I would like to get a flat iron for me. Ive been hearing these brands like CHI, GHD,Remington and Sedu. I need a few suggestions on which brand is good and that can make the hair really shiny and straight (unlike sum irons where we need to iron again and again on the same chunk of hair to achieve the straightness!)

Ive long layered medium thick black hair, plus my hair now was permanent straightened for a year, now my natural hair has started to grow more and u can see the difference between the texture of it wavy on top and straight bottom

SEDU is far the best I have ever tried. I just got a CHI yesterday but I havent tried just yet...but yeah SEDU is my #1 choice. Also, dont forget to use a heat protector!

I've had a GHD flat iron for a couple of years now and I've had no problems with it. It straightens my hair very well and I use it to curl and make waves too

I didn't notice, i think you have a great hair !
I'm of no help, i hate flat irons.

Definitely a CHI. I've had mine for almost 3 years now and not a single problem. Doesn't overheat and makes the hair really silky.

I use a CHI at work, and I have another at home for myself, I love them.

i say dont spend 200 dollars on an iron. even the top of the line ones crap out on average after 2 years of daily use. and if you are using it less than that than why would you spend that much.

you just need one that gets to a high heat, you will be comfortable using and ideally something with a coated plate to make the hair glide through smoother.

i would recomend the sally beauty supply's ion brand hair straightner. it is the one i have, and it works just as well as a chi and sedu ect. and was only 70 dollars.

Walmart has one now Called Remmington Professional That is supposed to be compare to Chi. The cost of it was a little over $38.00 It also comes in a nice case. I used it and it wasn't bad, but not as good as the chi. Probably the best ds I have used though. I just ordered a Solia off folica because they have a $20.00 off a $100.00 purchase. I got a Solia, iron stand, Sedu heat protectant, and a bottle of Sexy hair seal & shine I think it's called for $80 with free ship. Just a thought!

i've heard from many different flat iron lovers good things about all the ones you mentioned: chi, sedu, ghd

ok, i havent heard so much good about remington.

but anyway, i have a FHI that i love. i got it at ulta and it's pink and cute too. i think i paid $99. but my stepdaughter got a wigo from Ulta recently that performs wonderfully, and it was $20-$25 i think, and it's cute and pink with a pattern on it.

a good place to read reviews on flatirons is here: Folica: Hair Care Skin Care & Beauty Products Reviews Like CHI Flat Iron

I have really thick and frizzy hair and until I discovered flat irons, I never had a good hair day. I first tried a few of the cheaper irons like Conair but they didn't work at all for me.

My hair is fairly long. I have a HAI 2 which has 2 1/4 inch ceramic plates that make it easier for me to flat iron my hair quickly. I have 2 of those and after 4 years, the first one has finally stopped working - problem with the swivel cord.

I also have a Solia with smaller plates. I use that mainly for my bangs to get a curl. I bought that as I read reviews that it was comparable to the Sedu, but a bit cheaper.

I'm in Canada and try to pick up a new one whenever I go to the States (not too often!) since I can find them for about half the price there compared to here.

I think I will try the Sedu next.

I have an ANDIS, and I really really love it. It warms up really fast so I don't have to lounge around for half an hour waiting like I did with my conairl. I've got long thick hair, and it takes about half an hour to straighten all the way, but if I don't wash it and the humidity is low, then it stays perfect for two or three days. Best of all I got it at Wal*Mart for like $17 ;D

I have the Braun ceramic flat iron and I love it!! I have had it for 2 years now!

Aight I bought Remington Pro SLim Ceramic S2014 for 35 pounds aftr discount at Debenhamz,London.Ive used it and I find its good but makes my hair poker straight lolz!Thank god this isnt for me , its for my niece

Im thinking between CHI n GHD...

Since i have never used a flat iron, totally out of random i'd say go for a CHI, it just sounds better.

Me too, I love my GHD, it's a great quality straightener and will last you years.

I love my SEDU! Recommended to 3 of my friends and they LOVED it as well. Keeps your hair straight and shiny. I use chi serum along with the flat iron.

I tried a few cheap straightening irons and then invested in GHDs, and they are so much better. So I would recommend them to anyone.

We do not have sedu stuff in the uk, if we did I would have tried them, as I think they use some kind of ionic treatment. I once had my hair ionically straightened and it was great. So I recommend GHD ceramics, but have not tried sedu and ionic stuff is good.
