I have fine, curly virgin hair and want to dye it a bit darker than this color:

Is there a way I can achieve this without bleaching my hair completely. If I lighten it, will it show? Also, my mom said if I bleach there's a possibility that it might relax my curls a little. Is this true? I was looking for something permanent if it exists. Sorry for all the questions. I know NOTHING when it comes to hair products.

I have seen kits that is an all-in-one so it'll bleach and colour at the same time. I saw it at Sally's Beauty Supplies. Lightening has really nothing to do with relaxing the curl. For purple, you don't have to lighten your hair too much for the purple to be prominent. You just have to make sure you buy a good semi-permanent colour gel and leave it on long enough. I love purple, I've had purple before.

I would go with Jerome Russell colour. It lasts longer.

Thanks for the suggestion! About how long would you say it lasts before it starts fading too much?

Depends on how often you shampoo. Like any hair colouring, the moment you shampoo, it'll start to fade. Purple doesn't disappear as quickly as reds. I'd say it lasts about a month before next colouring touch up. My daughter's hair is currently pink and it's lasted about a month now. I love the colour on the pic, I'd definitely go for it unless they will have issues with it at work.

if the color is that much darker, you might be able to pull off just dying it (if you're looking for just a tint of purple) but it would probably look closer to black. lightening a couple levels would probably be necessary. If you don't damage your hair too much (lighten over 2-4 shades) then it shouldn't take out too much curl, however the most will be when your hair is the healthiest.

I have very fine hair... mine was actually more manageable (although still very curly) when I let my hair go blonde when I was younger.. leaving it natural i find my hair more coarse and unruly.
