I have a combination of oval and diamond face shapes (rounded forehead and chin but with prominent cheekbones). A lot of face shape makeup guidance is tailored to one shape only, what should I do if I have multiple attributes?

I'm leaning towards doing my cheeks according to a diamond face shape tutorial, and the rest of my face according to oval. But hopefully that won't be disjoint

Hi @gonechalant, for a combination oval and diamond face shape, the goal is to balance the prominent cheekbones while enhancing the natural contours of the forehead and chin. That being said I would contour along the sides of the cheekbones, starting from the top of the ear towards the corner of the mouth, stop mid-cheek to avoid overly chiseled look. This will soften the prominence of the cheekbones. Next, I would lightly contour the sides of your forehead (if your forehead is broader) and then under the jawline to enhance the rounded chin.

I would highlight the center of the forehead, the bridge of the nose, the tops of the cheekbones (though I would avoid too much shimmer on prominent cheekbones) and then the center of the chin to balance the face.

As for blush I would focus the blush on the apples of the cheeks and blend slightly upward to the temple. This will help soften the angularity of the cheekbones while giving a fresh, lifted look.

I would also avoid any overly angular brows as it may clash with the natural roundness of your forehead and chin.

Hope this helps and if you decide to try this advice out, I would love to hear how it turns out for you =)
