My hair looks flat the second day if I don't wash it. What can I do to add some height to my hair that doesn't require a hairdryer or heat appliances? My hair is in long/med layers already, but the roots and crown always look blah, no oomph, thanks

i usually spray a little hairspray at the roots and kind of shake my fingers through or just push the top layers up a bit and spray hairspray. it usually works. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Ditto on sunbunny's tip. I pick a bunch of my hair from the crown and spray Flip Out Hair Spray on the roots, then hold it for a few seconds and then put it back. Also, I know you said you didnt want to use any appliances, but if possible, as you are holding the hair for the spray to dry, just use the hair dryier in the coldest possible setting so the spray will dry faster and in an up position.

You can also tease the roots, it's a bit difficult to explain how - you get your comb and kind of gently comb in the opposite direction, and do it like on either side of your part, sort of underneath so that you can put some non-teased hair over the top and smooth it out.

Wow that was a phenomenally BAD explanation! Maybe someone else can explain it better lol!

I know what you mean with needing 'oomph' - I have the same prob. I also do like a little pouf at the front section and clip it back. Works every time!

YOu and I have the same hair color by the look of your avatar. What color is it actually? Mine is a medium strawberry red I guess.

Yup my hair is red, not dark red though, more....orange lol! It looks lighter in the sun and also when I've washed it lol! I bleached it for years so I'm in the process of growing it out, so it's lighter towards the ends, but you can't really notice it unless it's pointed out.

use velcro rollers only at the top of ur hairs to add height leave on until ur damp hair dries. if you like add alil hairspray, moose, etc to keep your volume through out the day.

Ive seen a lot of really helpful videos on Youtube about teasing hair to get volume at roots, or using rollers too, maybe you could check that out

Alot of people use dry shampoo on their roots for added fullness on day-old hair. I tried it once and had pretty decent results.
