You just massage it into your skin then you can either take a hot washcloth let it steam your face & then wipe your face or you can just take a cotton ball & swipe up the excess. Toner helps to get rid of the excess oil also. The hot water one works well but I feel like it irritates my skin.

I actually got the info from another board im on

I dont use it for moisturizer either I think its to irritating for me alone thats why I dont use alot in my cleanser mix. The castor oil is more for cleansing than moisturizing anyway. I have heard of people using it on their hair to though.

My friend claims that her acne scars disappeared after she used castor oil on it for a week! I gotta try this..

I wouldnt use it straight it could irritate your skin possibly even dry it out. Mix it with the olive oil or another base oil.

This is great info! Someone should make this a sticky.

I used to use EVOO to remove makeup, but it was kind of thick and heavy, so I switched to DHC cleansing oil. The homemade blend sounds great though. I still like to use the OO as a moisturizer (just a few drops rubbed between hands and pressed into skin, only at night for me) and rubbed into the ends of my hair.

FYI almond oil is really light. I used to use it on my baby for infant massage. Might be fun to experiment with adding this to the mix... You can buy great cold-pressed oils at Whole Foods.

Do you the olive oil in combination with other oils to be acne free? What type of skin do you have?

Yes I used the green tea toner to take off excess oil then smooth on the avo oil. You really could just put the avo oil under your eyes because your face feels so soft after cleansing you don't even need to moisturize.

You can buy it at the healthfood store or you could prob buy it on line. Its not neccesary but it smells nice also it helps with acne.

For acne prone skin you can add a couple drops of tea tree oil available in health food stores or the vitamin shoppe or online. You can also use lavender oil if you are sensative its not as strong as tea tree.

okay this is very interesting to me and i want to try it! it wouldn't make me break out wouldn't it? and i already have oily skin...putting more oil on my face wouldn't make it even more oily? but what i really want to know is that when you're talking about Olive Oil, are you talking about the same ones that u use to cook that you can find in the supermarket? thanks!!

Everyones skin is different. I can say from my experiance it has not caused breakouts with me & it shouldnt leave you oily if you remove the excess. Yes its the same stuff you cook with. If you dont like the smell of olive oil I would suggest reg olive instead of extra virgin the only time you smell it is when you are actually cleansing.

DHC is a Japanese line of skincare and cosmetics. I've been loving their stuff. The cleansing oil is a light, olive-oil based oil that you use to clean your skin. Have you ever tried Origins liquid crystal or Shu cleansing oils? It's the same idea. They're great for removing makeup and are deep cleansing, yet gentle (which seems weird for those of us with oily skins who always thought we should avoid such things).

I love the smell of olive oil! But you could also put the sprig of rosemary in it like Naturally suggested, or maybe basil--I love the smell of basil. Okay, now I am getting hungry!!! lol

I also make mosturizer with olive oil with marigolds & pansies. I take a 1/2 cup of washed marigold & pansy flowers and put it in a big jar of Olive oil covered with cheese cloth and put in the oven for aprox 7 days on about 120...just to keep it warmed so the olive oil gets really infused with the marigolds & pansies. I then strain the oil thru the cheesecloth and add a couple drops of lavender. I use Young Living cause their oils are a great quality. I have a small crock pot ( I think it's a 1/2 quart) that I melt 4-6 oz of bees wax. This way you don't have to stand over it and it won't scorch then add the strained oil in with the bees wax for about 30 min and then pour into jelly jars. Some are really cute and have a good self sealing top. My grandmother made this a hard way..but with technology..I cheat and do it an easy way.:icon_redf

Min, thanks for this absolutely great info and for sharing your secret skin "recipe"...I can't wait to try it, really it sounds so good...

Right now I'm doing the ACV toner, but only, like once a week..have you tried ACV and how, if you have, is it different from the green tea toner??

and thanks for the info on avo oil..!!

I agree, you have beautiful, glowing skin!
