I know it doesnt sound like that big of a deal, but I've been coloring my hair since I was 11, and 97% of the time, it has been permanent color. Considering that my naturally dark brown hair is bleached and has remnants of pink and blue, I cannot just grow it out. So, I'm going to keep it looking fresh with semi-permanents. I know that technically using hair color isn't that big of a deal during pregnancy, but this go around, I'm trying to be super careful.

Also, I'm trying to take advantage of the prenatals & clean living, and not cut my hair.

Wish me luck!

Eek...I think I'd freak if I weren't able to dye my hair for eight months. Good luck with everything, though.

And congrats on the pregnancy!!

Congrats on baby to be...

I would definitely recommend using semi-permanent. If you go to a salon I highly recommend the Goldwell Colorance line, it is actually good for your hair and helps fill in those broken bonds. It is a great refresher and there is a wide variety of colors to choose from. I used to use it all the time... However it is only available to professionals or at a salon.

Definitely do regular deep conditioning treatments and if you can avoid heat styling do so... Or make sure to always use a thermal setting spray before a blow-out or any other heat styling tool.

Professional products do wonders. I have a few recommendations if you need any!

Good luck. When I read the title of your post my immediate thought was "wow, I couldn't do that". But at least you have a wonderful incentive not to colour your hair, and semi permanent colours might be fun.

Well, I'll still have the darker colors to choose from. It's not as bad as it could be, lol. Thank you!

Thanks! I don't go to a salon, I do my own cutting and coloring, but thanks for the rec. I'm pretty regular on my conditioning, I've started using some products that I really like. And I only use heat about once a month or so. Only when I want to control the short spikes on top. There are a couple of brands at Sally Beauty that I learned a lot about while I was working there, so I'm going to be using them. thanks for your help though. If I dont like the ones I'm planning on using, I'll definitely ask you for help!

Besides, I haven't been dark in a while, it'll be fun, especially since I'm getting a tan. i always liked the look of dark hair with blue eyes and tanned skin.

I can only imagine! At least I have the semis. Thank you! When I first saw it I was a little creeped out, then I decided it's really cute.

It'll be hard, but worth it

Semi permanents aren't too bad, you should be able to get a nice colour from them, maybe not as crazy as you're used to, but some nice colours nonetheless
