I went to the mall today and got myself a trim because i'm trying to grow my hair out. Well she trimmed it up for me, she said she had to fix a lot of it because the last person had cut it where I had spots in the back of it. My hair is shorter around my ears than the back of it. My question Really is how long should it take for the sides to grow to the rest of it?? The lady said she trimmed it a little to try to catch it up. This was my first trip to Master Cuts, but I have to say I did like it. Now if only my hair would grow out!! I am growing it out from the Spiked out in the back style. I'm getting there, but Gosh it takes sooo long!!

Well, they say hair grows an average of 1/4" per month... Some seem to say otherwise... My hair stylist back in GA told me to brush my hair with a paddle brush... Apparently brushing your hair stimulates the roots and makes the hair grow faster... I tried it, and though I can't say 100% it worked, it might've helped :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Sadly, hair grows in cycles. This means that you're hair will grow really fast for about three months and then it will enter a rest state. (It's more complex than this, but I'm not an expert! I'm just annoying and ask lots of questions. :moa: )

The only thing that I've found that really helps hair grow is to eat a good diet with plenty of protein and take a good multivitamin. Stimulating the scalp can help, but it doesn't work for everyone. Also, make sure to protect your ends or hair breakage will make it seem like you're not getting any growth.

Thanks so much! Sorry for the Dumb question, but what is a Paddle brush? I've heard about them, but have never seen them I guess or if I did I didn't know what it was. The lady said i'm better off to get it caught up and evened up now as it grows than to wait until it's long and have to lose a lot of length. At least now it looks like I have a little style.
