Hey guys...

I need help with my EXTREMELY FLAT HAIR... No matter what I use it always ends up being flat... I have Long Straight flat asian hair.. Can anyone suggest how I can give it volume and keep it like that all day??

Thanks.

any kind of volumizing spray at the roots. then tease your hair? then a bunch of hairspray

Good ideas cupcake!

I also have the kinda flat, long asian hair. Something that kinda makes the hair dry, like Sexy Hair volumizing spray or Chi's voluminzing spray does give my roots volume, but it usually doesn't stay like that all day.

it takes a lot of time and patience to work with my hair!

i work in sections, picking up a chunk of hair, hairspraying it like crazy, backcoming it with a brush, and then hair spray again.

Have you considered rollers? Put them in, apply some root lifter, and hairspray, and you should be good.

Ooooh Rollers ?? Is that for leaving overnight?? Not sure if I even know how to put them properly but I'll give a go... I've tried all hairspray and it just goes crusty then at the end of the night my hair is flat... looks bad in photos.

You could try them overnight, but I'm not sure how comfy the big ones would by. I would try putting them in while your hair was damp and blowdrying them. Don't worry, by your 2nd or 3rd roller, you'll get the hang of it.

Have you tried blow drying your hair upside down? I know this is the one thing I can't do b/c it adds way too much volume to my hair.

Yeah I've tried this one... it does add volume but only for an hour or so and I get really bad fly aways.. looks like I've had a balloon rubbed on my head for hours. Wish I had a personal hair dresser that would just come to my house every morning..

blow dry your hair upside down with a round hair brush with boar bristles. these kinds of brushes create natural volume for your hair. roll it around the roots. *use a root lifter! i've been a recent fan of paul mitchell's. root lifters work better than mousses IMO. the rollers are a good idea.

i like to use hot rollers on dry hair & spray them with hairspray. it gives your hair lots of volume!! some people use curling irons but they're more of a hassle on long hair, & they don't create as much volume. also, shorter cuts are best for thin hair...may want to consider getting your hair cut..if you do a search you can find more on volumizing products & stuff..i have an old thread with recs but i dunno how to post it for you. . You could try in terms of

Volumactive Mousse or Volumactive Spray - Kerastase

Root Lift - L'Oreal Tec Range

Densify Or Rough Paste 08 - Rekens - Works like Magic on my hair and it sounds simmiliar to yours!

My alltime favorite root lifter is Paul Mitchells' root lift. I like the Big Sexy Hair root pump, but not as much as the Paul Mitchell. Definitely a good investment!
