I want to start using my straighter more. What can i use to help it work and help it not be damaged? I have fine hair. TIA!

you can't really prevent heat damage to hair, it's best not to use heat on it at all. heat protectants block out some of the damage but not all of it. the one i like is by toni&guy, you can also use it as a leave-in conditioner too.

Use a good heat protectant spray before styling your hair with any heat. eg. straightener/ hair dryer. Leave in conditioners in conjunction is a good idea too. Also doing a hair treatment once a week really helps too. I personally love Redkens all soft heavy cream. This stuff is amazing.

Try and limit straightening your hair to only once or twice a week. If you have a good straightener it will stay straightened for days. I also have fine hair, another good tip to keep it silky and straight whilst you sleep is to use a satin pillow slip or if you don't have one of those, slip a silky cami over your pillow.

i would use some sort of heat protectant, i very rarley straighten my hair but when i do i use aveds straight out, i have a free sample that is like 1 ounce and that has lasted me a while. you dont need a lot of it and it makes my hair feel thicker since i have extremely fine hair.

I recommend Kerastase Necter Thermique as a heat protectant. It is awesome! You add a little bit to damp hair and you are sorted. It is lovely. Quite concentrated so you only need a tiny bit so it will last for ages.

Anyone have recs for a leave-in conditioner? Thanks!

for a leave in conditioner for fine hair?

i would totaly recomend the stuff that i use currently

it is MOP pear detangler (modern organic products) you can get it at ulta or online. stores like sallys may possibly have it but i am not sure on that, and i think whole foods carries it.

i believe they also make a real leave in conditioner but i find this works just as well, and it is a lighter application so that i do not have to worry about my hair being weighed down.

There are various ways available for hair straightening such as temporary straightening, chemical straightening, non-toxic relaxing method and relaxing hair with chemicals.
