Heya Everyone!

The Nightmare:

Last week my mum coloured her hair, it turned out lovely so my mum said she would do the same for me. My hair turned bleach blonde yellow, trust me I nearly died I felt so bad. The next day I went to the hairdressers and she put a semi-permanent colour on top to tone it right down.

The Problem

Since shes done that... my hairs been so greasy, straight after washing it it looks oily especially at the back, you can feel thick oil running your fingers through it... not a self esteem boost :eusa_wall: . I can understand why its gone like that, bleach = drys hair and semi-colour = conditions hair.

The Shampoos

I've tryed loads...

Head and Shoulders for Greasy Hair

Deep Conditioning Shampoo to remove grease (from hairdressers)

Sunsilk for greasy hair

etc etc

If anyones got any ideas! please help! :satisfied: I will never bleach my hair again, wish I could have it back to my natural colour but I'm just gonna have to wait about 2 years till it all grows out :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />.

aww i'm sorry honey. the only good advice i can give is to call around the local salons, (preferably the place you got it done), or do a google search about your specific situation. i will try to find something myself for you, but i'm at work right now..

Dear Katie,

the only thing I can think of to tell you is some shampoos have great natural extracts that are awesome for dealing with oily hair. Use them sparingly, however, I am not sure if they are meant to maintain dyed hair! I doubt they'd ruin it, but, yah know, Just be careful-use them a bit at a time to see if you like the effects of them.

Here are a few that I recall:

Peppermint extract....with a yummy, zingy smell!

Tea tree oil extracts...Paul Mitchell makes one you could use maybe twice weekly, until the "oily problem" calms down a bit. It is so effective if you used it daily your hair would be dry and rather frizzy!

Patchouli...I love the scent but some people dislike it intensely. It has antiseptic properties as well.

Lavender....is great and a more tame scent, nice and floral.

Oh, and try not to use any products with "protein" added...I didn't know I shouldn't until a year or two ago. If your hair is a bit thick it would be no problem. If your hair is a bit thin, as mine is, protein lends your hair a soft feel just after drying....and then your roots overwork to produce oil because the protein actually saps moisture.

I am far from a hairdresser but I hope this can help. remember: essential oils!

hugs,

mela.

Try Soda Shampoo by Fresh, you can buy a small bottle of it. I have oily hair and it's great, smells awesome!
