Q: Help! My hair is so dry and brittle! Do products really help?

A: A healthy diet, eight hours of beauty sleep, and a laissez-faire lifestyle are all precursors to healthy hair. But with today's time-pressed and stress-inducing schedules, it's much harder to come by. The good news: there's a myriad of top treatments to help mend dry and damaged tresses. When it comes to cleansing, stick with shampoos that help heal and hydrate. Fragrance-laden formulas will strip your hair of its' natural shine and color. For twisted tresses and unmanageable Brillo-pad hair, a nourishing, leave-in conditioner twice a week is essential for restoring weight, texture, and moisture. And since dry hair means you're suffering from a dry scalp too, an oil supplement that penetrates beyond the hair shaft will help nourish and bring back sheen and suppleness. Apply a dime-sized amount of serum or styling cream onto your fingertips, and run them through your hair for a sleek and shiny finish.

maybe also you could try a hair treatment at your salon..

if that becomes too costly, the best drugstore products i'd reccommend are aussies 3 minute miracle conditioner, or kolestral conditioner.

^LMAO. Thanks Mar, you've been busy posting these mini articles!

Thanks for posting!Besides Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle, there is the conditioning treatment "Infusium 23 Leave-In Treatment"--also excellent for dry, brittle hair. I just tried it last week and the change in my hair is amazing!

I always go to get a deep conditioning once every week at the place where I get my hair done. Biolage conditioning balm really is amazing too. I loooooove it.

When I get my hair cut (JC Penney) they have a Redken deep conditioning treatment, and that works really well for me. I have fine flat dry hair, and this doesn't weigh it down. I would think that most salons would have this treatment. At home I use Garnier Fructise 3 minute conditioner. I first shampoo with a clarifying (Suave) and put this on while I wash and shave. It works really well for me, my hair is nice and soft.

Thanks for the info. I like Kiehl's Deep Conditioning mask. I think it's coconut.
