My mom has this thing where she wants to look young (middle-aged crisis??) but anyways, my mom always tries new things. She doesn't know that much about haircare I mean after she done this, I think that she needs to stay away from hair product aisle for forever!

My mom recently dyed her hair jet black. She has a warm skin tone and cocoa brown skin so actually I reffered her to a honey blonde-type color. But no, she wants to do it her way. Need i remind you, that my mom is a huge risk taker? So, she dyes her hair right after she relaxed it! A major no-no.... But that was like a week ago and on today i asked her has she dyed her hair (because she had black dye markings all over her) and she said yes. The reason she gave me to dye her hair again was because the color was fading.

Now, I'm no hair expert, but I don't think dye would last in your hair for only one week! COME ON! Please, guys help me save my mom from HAIR DISASTER ISLAND!! What should i tell her to go and buy to repair her hair, because i know it's damaged.

Needing your help,

BeautifullyMADE

Sounds to me like your mom just wants to look her best. And good for her to try new things.

Personally, I think Pantene is as good as any conditioner.

If her hair starts to break off, then only a good cut will help.

We have the Pantene conditioner & shampoo, I uusally like them too. I know she doesn't want to cut her hair again because she has short hair like me. Insteads she wants something to grow her hair and make it longer. But i mentioned to her that she actually prolonging the time her hair could be growing by damaging it. Am I right?

IMO most people have 1/2 inch hair growth each month.

Vitamin B7 - Biotin - has been reported to help hair growth.

When hair gets damaged, sometimes it gets frizzy looking.

Or the ends will can break and fall off.

But hair grows from the scalp, not the ends. Even though she could be damaging her hair with chemicals, her hair will continue to grow 1/2 inch each month.

I have never used Black dye but I understand that it fades fairly quickly.

Maybe a dark rich brown colour would be just as flattering and won't fade as fast. Then she won't dye as often.

Does she use shampoo/conditioner that is geared to dark brown/black hair.

I just saw an advertisment that Pantene is coming out with a shampoo/cond line for black hair.

the relaxer she put in her hair probaby didnt allow her hair to take the color ive had black hair and didnt have a problem with fading i would tell her not to color her hair anytime soon it could make her hair fall out from all the chemicals i like biolage hydration that really helped my hair when i had a diaster make sure w.e she gets its color safe tho also tell her if she blow dries or straightens to lay off that for awhile
