ModCloth Stylish Surprise Grab Bags

I was on the fence but I ended up ordering three dresses. Had a 15% off code from Unidays too.

I think the quality of the items is going down though. The first time, I ordered four dresses and I got an insanely expensive Eva Franco dress that I promptly sold for $80 on Ebay. It definitely financed that order.

Last time I ordered I got boots (http://www.modcloth.com/shop/shoes-boots/fall-foal-iage-boot-in-black), these gloves (http://www.modcloth.com/shop/accessories/afternoon-in-oxford-gloves) and a hideously misshapen sweater that's beyond saving. It was worth it for the boots and gloves.

I ordered two dresses. It's my first ModCloth order, even though I am constantly on their looking at stuff. I sized up, since they didn't have my size and it seems like so many of the reviews I read make it seem like a lot of things run small...plus I figured stuff could be taken in if necessary. Can't wait to see what everyone gets.

@ Don't worry! The main reason I sized up was because they didn't have my normal size (I would have gotten the normal size, if they had it available). Plus, honestly, I have been trying not to admit to myself that I have gained about 10 lbs and probably need to buy the bigger size LOL. I'm sure you'll be fine.  I see a lot of stuff run small and people complain, and I've also seen a bit that run big, so you never know /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I agree, don't worry! I sized up with the dress because I'm proportioned a little bit weirdly, I'm basically an hourglass BUT I've got swimmer shoulders and bigger boobs than the standard most retailers set with my size - I've had so many dresses fit like a glove on my waist/hips but then squish my chest so much it's uncomfortable (or just won't zip up all the way).

i also think that the difference (in my case) between an XXL and a 1X varies between brands and companies any way so i probably would be having the same dilemma even if this was at another store!

I'm worried I should have sized up too. Sizing just fluctuates so much for me depending on how something is cut, being an hourglass. I'm gonna try to not worry about it until I get it though.

exactly. no use in worrying until you see it. plus, their sizing is weird across the board - there's only so much we can do! 

i think my current fitness and weightloss goal to "be healthy...and also turn my big booty into rap music video girl status" will probably not help my issue of dealing with weird sizing hahaha.  :lol:

Sounds like an amazing goal bahahah. My goal has been to figure out the perfect caloric intake that allows me to eat sweets and not gain any weight. I haven't figured it bout yet.

Was it just me or did the surprises sell out a lot faster this time around? It could've just been me seeing the notice on my phone too late, but I was at lunch during work two hours earlier and didn't see any modcloth notice for the sale.

I'm bummed I didn't get to get any shoes this time, but I did nab 5 dresses that were a size larger than my usual size, which might be a good thing. Luckily, that size, and 4x were the only options available when I got to the surprise page.

Extremely fast, like usually they last about a day but this lasted a few hours. They don't do them very often but they just did one earlier in the year, so I'm wondering if they were limited on stock this time.

Oh I'm so excited. I'm from New Zealand and was able to get in for 2 dresses yesterday! Can't wait to see what I'll get! I found out about SS last year and have been wanting to do it since!!

This exactly. When I order from modcloth, especially something for a special event, I order a single item in several sizes and then return what doesn't fit me.

I usually just try to be cautious about sizing for the Stylish Surprise, but after losing weight I really don't have a feel for what I can wear on the whole anymore so I struggled between picking Large and XL.
