Is there any treatment for ingrown hair ? This condition causes swelling in the scalp which can be painful.

You talking like a couple hairs? Yeah.. Warm compress.. I usually get in there with some kind of sharp object and dig them out.. Then antibiotic cream to prevent infection..

i hate it when it happens...i dig them out too but it hurts! so do the warm compress or use a cream like bikini zone

If part of the hair is protruding above the skin, gently pluck the culprit out and wipe the area with rubbing alcohol. If you can see the hair but it's still underneath the skin, try a warm compress to "coax" it to the surface. Never ever dig around to remove an ingrown hair.. I know it's tempting but it will definitely leave scars if you don't know what you're doing. I also recommend Neosporin or A&D ointment to keep the area as clean as possible. The moisture from these salves also helps by softening the skin above/around the ingrown hair, while also reducing inflammation. I hope you resolve your problem soon!!

ouch! when i get ingrown hairs i take a cotton ball and put a good amount of tea tree oil on the cotton ball and then on the bump for 10 mins or so. its helps soften the skin and then i pull the hair out with tweezers. the tea tree oil is also antibacterial too! hth

just wanted to mention - Exfoliate!!! This helps a looot with preventing future ingrown hairs (I've seen a great improvement on myself). It sucks to keep on having to tweeze those out :/
