I'm in another hair rut rut RUT (pic inside)

My hair is so BORING at shoulder length with nothing going for it right now, all blah and flat and losing its waviness. I might cut it right now!!!

I was thinking of getting the back of my neck trimmed short a la Audrey Tatou in Amelie or Cecile in High Tension. :laughing: I want my neck to... well, I want to look like I actually have a neck again.

The last time I got my hair cut, I want to say was in December.

This is me before like last year

So you can tell I'm okay with taking major risks with my hair (it is purple and white)!

Pros of lopping it all off:

• I look good and I can balance out the cuteness of my face with an edgy style.
• My neck looks longer
• My hair grows fast (but not fast enough for my changing tastes sometimes)
• I hate/suck at formally styling hair
• My hair gets dead, flat, and blaaaah when it is long because it is so thick.
• No more ponytails with greasy bangs on my forehead!!
• I can be versatile and go avant garde even.

Cons:

• I want long dreadlocks in the near future
• I wanted to take a crack at long, elaborate hairstyles
• I don't want to keep up constant maintenance with the short hair in the back
• The very nape of my neck took forever to grow out.
• Hairstylists rarely listen to me about my bangs, and the fact that I don't really want any!
• Hairstylists always try to make me look all cutesy (happened last time)
• Technically I will still be in a rut because I'm having a hard time ripping myself away from the short cut (or similar to) I had before.

I don't knooooow. It's like I have no identity with this easily forgettable 'do I have.If I went short I have no idea how I'd want it cut anyway.Thanks for letting me vent. Haha.

I think its cute now, but I understand wanting to just change your hair cuz you're bored with it. What really helped me when I was trying to decide if I wanted a haircut was this site:

It lets you upload a picture of yourself and test out different haircuts to see which one looks best on you. You can even change the color, and it gives instructions for the hairstylist...

If you do decide to cut your hair off the fact that your hair grows fast would be a plus and hey its right in time for summer, so having your hair off your neck is a major benefit too.
