As you can see in my avatar, my hair was kind of rounded and came in at the bottom towards my chin. That's after the hair stylest did it. I looooved it! Now when she did it, she used a round brush when she dried it and then used a hair straightener. She didn't use any product either.

When I did it this morning, all I could get my hair to do was round at the ends. It doesn't look the same. I used a cream to keep my hair from getting frizzy when I dry it and then protective serum to keep my hair safe from my straightener. Any suggestions, tips, or tricks? I'm stumped.

I posted something about this in the "I need help" thread but it looks like you have already tried the curling the ends in.... Since you are already doing this, are you curling the other layers in as well? With the chi, you can do many different things. In order to get the C shape, you can take your hair straight up with the flat iron and then once you get to the ends, curl them under. Then let your hair fall. You can do this for all the layers on top, it will be hard to do the ones in the back because its hard to get back there. Also, I really think a texturizing paste or pomade will help a lot. This will help to separate layers to give you some body and movement. I like Healthy Sexy Hair, Soy Paste. Its not heavy at all and it is not sticky so it leaves your hair in great condition.

She might have, I can't even remember.

Ok so I just straightened my hair again. Going straight up with my straightener wasn't working right, so i just went straight out to the side and curved it the whole time. It's not perfect, but looks much closer to what the hair stylist did

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Good, at least you are getting closer. That technique is hard to master.

I would actually go back to her and see if she can show you step by step and allow you to do it. That way you can learn how to work you hair!

A good stylist would welcome you back to help you.

I'm glad someone was able to help you. I have this problem too, a stylist will make my hair gorgeous, but I can never recreate the look! Even if I ask her to go through it step by step.

she prob went through the sections a lot slower and with a lot more tension than you are, also try to keep them more at a downward angle....

for when you do the blow dry part just focus on the roots (if you are going to straighten anyway) just to make sure there are no kinds in the first 1/8th of an inch where the hot iron cant reach
