Well I wanted so badly this beach waves look so I bought Bumble And Bumble Surf Spray! I wet my hair and then I spray it! And WOW it gave so much volume to my hair and absolutely NO curls!!! I hate it!!!! Ohhh what to do??? Maybe I shouldn't wet my hair should I put it on dry hair? My hair are naturaly wavy, but wavy with that big huge waves not the small cute good looking waves I hate that! My hair are also very dry and dehydrated lately do you think the fault is that and not on the styling product?? What am I doing wrong??? Please MUT experts help me!!!

Hi hun,

I've got the B&B surf spray! It's not really to give curls though it's meant to give a piece-y beachy look and feel to the hair, more of a tousled look. it's just a salt water based product and it does give you lots of volume. I put mine on dry hair and scrunch it using a diffuser attachment on my hair dryer but I've never had it give me curls before. For curls, I read that it's best to mix some mouse with some conditioner and scrunch while drying to avoid the crispy feel.

Vanessa I want that beach waves look, but it didn't gave me that look, only volume! I think I put it on dry hair maybe, what look does it give you?

yeah try it on dry hair - i spritz it on dry hair that I've washed the day before as I find this works better. Then I use a diffuser and tip my head upside down just scrunching with my other hand and holding the diffuser close to my scrunched hand. it gives more of a pieced look rather than curls and I've only ever had a slight wave although if you're hair is naturally wavy it might be more obvious if you try this technique - hope that helps hun! Feel free to ask me anything else! x

Great tips!

You can also twist small sections of hair into rope-like twists, and dry...

Sometimes I will wash my hair at night and spray the heck out of it with Surf Spray. Then I braid my hair in a few sections... loose braids. I get great waves that way and minimal frizziness.
