I have been on accutane twice. The first time I was 35 and I was on for 4 months. Before starting accutane and each month following, I did fasting blood work and a pregnancy test. Accutane can cause cholesterol to rise and can cause sever bith defects. The doctor will stop the accutane if you become pregnant. I went on accutane again a year later, for 5 months. The doctor calculates your weight and blood to determine the length of duration and strength of accutane so everyone can be slightly different.

As far as side effects, my skin and scalp lost all oil about a month into the treatment. I loved that but you might start using moisturizer. My lips and nose were dried out so my lips would cracked or my nose bled a little bit. Just use lots of vaseline on lips and nostrils to prevent these problems.

My eyes were always dry so I had to stop wearing contacts while on accutane.

And my night vision decreased dramatically so I let others drive, in the evening.

So there are a few side effects but the results are really worth it. I went on it the second time only because the oiliness came back and I started to have a few large breakouts around my jaw again.

And if it is too expensive, the pharmaceutical company the manufactures accutane might help pay for some/all of the cost depending on your finances.

Just remember, you are not committed to staying on for the duration. If you start and then decide to stop after a few weeks or months, your doctor will agree to that.

Ask your doctor about a sample of Neo Medrol. It is the only topical ointment that works for me. Take care

LOL at you asking them if they were gonna take the graft from your butt! I probably would have done the same. Are you still gonna have one of those botox parties? I think that's cool. I would like to go to one.

I mention it almost every day. I think I'm being given the slip?

Stalling, stalling. I'd make a terrible bill collector. But I've been promised that it will be brought up again with the interested party before Friday. Darn!! This order/request is taking longer than a cotton candy at a diabetic convention..ok, no offense to diabetics. I know diabetis is a very serious disease. Too bad it wasn't an orgy I was suggesting. I gar-on-tee that would be organized in a heartbeat..

LMAO!

Without You...I have tried to respond to your messages. I apologize if you haven't gotten my responces. I thought you would get this message.

I had dermabrasion in 1997, in south-western Ontario, by the chief of plastic surgery, of that hospital. I am not comfortable identifying the doctor because it may identify me - I may have been the only dermabrasion patient that year.

The surgery was covered by OHIP. Ontario Health Insurance Program. We pay for the program with our taxes.

Now, the procedure is not covered by OHIP. You have to pay for it out of pocket or by private insurance. Since the surgery is out-patient and it requires a general anesthetic, I think the cost might be $1800. Only a guess.

If you want to talk to a plastic surgeon that performs dermabrasion, your family doctor will find one and refer you.

As well, the doctor will decide if you are a good candicate. Ideally, dermabrasion is only performed on light-skinned caucasions(with a northern european background), or asians. The healing is intensive and scaring can result if skin tone is too dark.

Hope this info helps.
