I'm checking it out right now, thanks! This before and after pic from there kinda scares me...

Maybe it's just swollen but looks lumpy

yeah, I agree that does look lumpy or something.....why would they use a bad

picture??? the chic in this picture looks obsessed though too.....look at her eyeliner and brows, they look kinda tattooed to me. I think artecoll might be better for acne scarring but not so good for the thin and fragile under the eye area? Make sure your doctor goes over ALL your options.

LOL Yeah, you're right.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I promise to keep y'all posted. My appointment is the 29th, btw.

after you talk to the guy don't get any work done w/out consulting with all of us LOL

I have had acne since I was 10 ish. Finally, at the age of 34 I had dernabrasion.

I had a lot of deep pits on my cheeks, around the front of my ears, and along my jaw line. It took about 4 months for my skin to heal and the redness to go away. Now my skin looks great. All the pitting is gone, along with a few fine lines.

What about dermabrasion? I wonder what the cost would be as compared the procedure you are interested in? Best of luck.

When I scar on my brown skin the scar gets white. But they do go away and return back to normal. Takes maybe 3 months.

The only scar that is left is a chicken pox scar, 1!

But the doctor also told me to use sunscreen a lot. and avoiding the sun for the first few month. And that if i dont use sunscreen, my scars might get dark, and look like scars.

My hubby had his moles removed at a normal doctors office. And he never listened to me on using sunscreen. His scars are very visible and dark, he also had huge moles.

No Lisa! My titties have never given me a black eye persay, but if I don't have a bra on and I run/jog down the stairs, they will totally hit me in the chin. Not to mention my back hurts on occasion! You are totally welcome for the visual by the way.

I totally missed the implants part! Girl...just go to Freddy's and get you an Xtreme Cleavage bra! You're beautiful just as you are! *I know you've heard that a trillion times and it probably means nothing coming from a D-cup, but you are an amazing woman and I wouldn't change a thing about you!*

Yes, i've been considering that as an option, too. My face has quit breaking out but i'm still trying to control the jaw line/neck area....guess it's hormonal or so i'm told. Is it okay to have dermabrasion with active lesions or cysts or will this inflame them more? That's great that the dermabrasion worked so well for you! I have no idea how much that costs in relation to the injections but it's definitely an option.

We don't have a Frederick's of Hollywood (i'm assuming that's what you're referring to) here but i'll definitely have to check that bra out next time I go out of town. I just bought the new Infinity Edge convertible push-up bra at Victoria's Secret the other day and I like it alot. I criss-crossed it in the back and it gave me some rockin' cleavage.

When I first read this thread I thought, what does the beautiful Little Lisa need to change?! I'm glad that it is just skin improvement (which almost everyone needs). Good luck at your appointment and keep us posted.

About a year before I had the dermabrasion, I went on tetracycline, so my skin would not be breaking out when I had the surgery. I stayed on the antibiotics while my skin recovered- 6 months. As well, the surgery brought milia all over my raw, healing skin. (Milia are the white bumps that babies have on their faces, right after they are born). The tetracycline helped me cope with the milia.

Finally, 6 months after surgery, I went off tetracycline and started accutane- for two cycles. I was 34 and so sick of the stress of acne, I pulled out all the stops!

I live in Ontario, Canada and the dermabrasion was covered by the province - the doctor felt it was pyschologically needed. If I had gone for ejections or laser, they would have been considered "cosmetic" and I would have paid for them. Could you stress how upset your skin makes you feel?

Hope my info helps.

I have not tried oral antibiotics for my acne...yet. My doctor gave me some clindamycin gel which is a topical antibiotic. It's not really doing anything as far as speeding the healing but I keep using it anyways. My face doesn't seem to break out anymore but it's my neck, below my ears, and right at the jawline on both sides that I cannot seem to control right now and it's scarring very badly not to mention that it's quite painful. I thought I had gotten a handle on it and it seemed to be clearing up from this new skincare line I was trying but a few days ago it came back again with a vengence. It's so frustrating! My insurance will not cover any of the work since they consider it all cosmetic. I am kinda scared to get on something like accutane otherwise I would have tried that years ago. I am just afraid that i'm gonna spend all this money to have my scars fixed and then continue to break out and screw it all up. Thanks for sharing all your info with me! I appreciate it greatly!

I agree with Becka and Dee, Lisa. Check with us...in other words, those who really matter in your life..before doing this...LMAO!!!

I have only had my experience with brown spots where they too said, well, yet another option is to take some skin..uh, from where, my butt, I asked..they did not answer..and do a kind of Skin Graft on my Face!!?? I asked, well, ok, but would't that replace the brown spot with a, you know, scar. Uh, yes, they said..we would have to somehow attech the other skin to the skin on your face. Ka-ching. Noooo Wayyyy. I mean, it's not like the botox, for which I'm going to be sort of a guinea pig...If you are going to pay for this, you want it done right. Oh, and where I come from in California $65.00 for a consultation is perfectly acceptable. It was only in the old days or, like you said, with the not-so-top docs that it was *free* which, by the way, was not really free, they always added it on somehow/where in your bill anyway.

Keep us posted! Oh yeah, I'm still waiting for my botox. It should be soon, though.

LOL at you asking them if they were gonna take the graft from your butt! I probably would have done the same. Are you still gonna have one of those botox parties? I think that's cool. I would like to go to one.

Just a few more words about acne. Accutane is the best thing that happened to my skin. I am in my fourties and I would still have cystic acne if I had not considered it. I continue to use Vitamin A acid gel - same as Retin A, all over my face. The only topical medication that works is Neo-Medrol, a topical antibiotic

glucocorticoide compound - prescription $25.

Clindamycin gel may irritate pimples until they are in the healing stage. I question how well this works with cystic acne.

If you have acne that is large, painful and takes a long time to heal - just like mine, you might want to consider something stronger. Oral antibiotic can be helpful, you should see results within a few months. However, there is always the chance of a dreaded yeast infection to deal with.

One other thing, my dermatologist gave me Clarex OC oil control gel. Wash face first, apply Clarex, wait a few minutes then apply make up. There should be less oil production throughout the day. You can get this over the counter.

Thanks for mentioning that about the clindamycin! I think I will talk to my doctor about getting a different topical gel. I have already had alot of problems with candida so I don't think taking oral antibiotics for an extended period would be a good option for me and I just wouldn't feel comfortable with it. I don't want to suffer with acne the rest of my life, though. So how long were you on accutane and did you have any side effects from it?

Little_lisa, i think you are a very beautiful woman, and if I looked half way as gorgeous as you, i would be the most concieted biatch ever.

But that aside, if it is something you really want, and not a spur of the moment thing, and if you have researched the procedure, and know where you are going to get your "surgury" done at is a place with a great reputation, go for it. But go get it done for yourself, not anyone else. It will be your pain, your money, etc, so do it for you!

You are beautiful, and don't let anyone tell you you arent (or i'll beat them up)!
