I have been wanting to get injections to fill in the trough-like area under my eyes and injections or something for some old acne scars. My microdermabrasion treatments have helped them tremendously by smoothing the edges and none of my pits are very deep but they are still very noticeable. I hide them as best as I can with makeup but it's not like covering a red mark or something easy like that...since they are dents it's a bit more tricky and almost impossible to completely hide. I'm gonna discuss implants while i'm there too but the face work is the main thing on my agenda right now.

When I called to make the appointment the other day, the girl said that for some scars the surgeon will make a small incision and sew the skin together which is a permanent fix but to me this sounds like it would create another, different kind of scar.

Anyone ever heard of this method or had it done?

Also, I thought that consultations were free but she said it would be $65. Oh, well, i'd rather pay that for a better surgeon and i've heard he's the best in town.

Is it permanent or temporary?? That doesn't sound too bad, if it's only temporary do you know what the effects are after and how often you have to go back?

LOL Yeah, that's consultation fee.

I'd rather do a temporary injection first just to see how it looks before I do something permanent i'll be stuck with.

i'm really interested in it. i'm so jealous of you. you're lucky i like you or else i'd kick your ass.

So they do both temporary and permanent? How long do the temporary injections last?

I've never heard of this procedure for scars. I agree, i think it would be best to try the temp one first. Good luck with it and please keep us updated.

I went to a plastic surgeon too. I went to the head plastic surgeon here in iceland. I went to his office the time the appointment was. but still i had to wait 2 hours. grrrrr

I went there to get my moles removed on the face. I had to pay around 40 dollars for consultation.

The moles removed sounds the same procedure to me, as cutting your scares open and sewing them together. I totally have no scares on my face anymore! Around after 4 month, it was all gone! It was really amazing.

But After I came home, I couldnt really eat, since one mole was near my lips, I couldnt even laugh. I couldt laugh haha, i had to laugh huhuhu.

The stiches hurt, they get off after 1 week.

Here are some pictures for you liza.

from moles, to the stitches, to the day i got the stitches removed.

you can see little scars on the day they got removed. but now i have non. and hubby always tells me that. he finds it so amazing.

you should look into artecoll.com it is an injection filler and it is permanent unlike restylane.

do you scar easily??...I do horribly, so cutting and sewing would be a really bad option for me.

If I am not mistaken, I think Artecoll is a bit more expensive than Restylane because of it's permanency (*is that a word*). From looking at your pictures, I don't think that you need breat implants, which I am assuming that you meant that when you said implants. Trust me you don't want big boobs. They only get in the way of life and hit you in the face when you run down the stairs with no bra on.

Thanks for the pics! They did an awesome job! Does your skin normally heal quickly and not prone to scarring, though?

Maybe it's just swollen but looks lumpy.

Yes, the permanent ones are obviously more expensive but the best option in the long run. I'd still like to try temporary ones first just to be sure of the results 'cause i'm a chicken. I might change my mind after the consultation, though.

Trust me, objects in my profile may appear larger than they are in real life. That's what Wonder bra was created for and if I took it off, you'd wonder where my tits went. I was sooo set on getting implants for so long and I think i'm finally kinda getting over that. I make jokes about myself all the time and i've kinda come to accept my little tatas but it would be nice to have a fuller set. Do they really hit you in the face!? lol That was a nice mental picture, thanks. Have you ever given yourself black eyes?

I'm sure you've already thought of this, Lisa.... you'll get phone nos. for previous customers that you can call as references, right??

I've heard of that method of cutting the skin and resewing it ... scar revision. However, you're right you can get a new scar, but usually if you are fixing up quite a bad scar, the new scar is less than what the old one was. I used to work for a large insurance co. and I'd pay for people to get scar revisions done on the face, however, sometimes the girls that had it done were still not happy, didn't quite give as much as a dramatic result as they had expected in comparison to the original scar, and also I can remember having to pay for them to keep going back for the scar revision, sometimes they didn't get fixed up once. But I'm not sure if any plastic surgeon would actually tell you upfront that it could take more than once ...

off topic but I can remember paying for MAC makeup for one gal while she was going through some work on the face. The plastic surgeon was truly adamant that MAC would be the only makeup she should be putting on her face while it was healing. weird heh?

re: implants - what are you thinking of? you certainly don't need any, you're gorgeous! I can totally see where you're coming from tho, this year i started to get fine lines and one massive one on my forehead. I swear its only a matter of time before I get a botox injection. oh i'll prolly get boobs too if i win the lottery

Yikes, thanks for letting me know that and now i'll be even more leary.

I don't want to go too big because I think it would look out of proportion with the rest of me.
