I went to my esthetician Robbie this morning for a facial and he told me that Armstrong McCall had their hair extensions on sale. Here's what they look like. I got the two-piece straight in Ginger Brown. I've never tried any kind and have been wanting to forever now but was afraid they would jack my fragile strands up. These are just the clip-in kind and are synthetic. Hopefully that will not hurt my hair since no glue is involved.

Robbie put them in for me and OMG they were soo heavy and it looked bad because you could see a definite line between my hair length and the extensions which are about mid back length. I went home and clipped my hair up on the sides which helped hide the difference some. I took some pics but they look crappy.

I think the extensions will look better after I get my hair dresser to blunt cut the ends and cut it to blend in with my own hair. The color is very close but a little off from my current hair color. Unfortunately, synthetic hair cannot be colored, right? I wish they would have had the human hair extensions because i'd much rather have those. I can mess around with these and get used to them and then get some better ones later, I guess.

Lisa,

You could make your own human hair clip-in extensions. Go to your local BSS and buy human hair extensions, and some snap comb clips. Then you can just hand-sew them onto the wefts. The think that's great about human hair is it has a natural taper, so that the ends look a bit more natural, unlike synthetic kanekalon hair.

Thank you! I'll have to check that out! I'm sure that would save me alot. Maybe I could get someone to sew them for me since i'd probably screw them up. lol

I totally want to try some. My mom had tons of the clip on pony tail ones and such...but never matched my hair color. They looked a bit fake too. The ones you are looking at look more real....I want and would love to go somewhere to try them out (desperately wanting my long hair back lately).

I hope your hairdresser can shape it up where you like them better. They look great on the pic. Do post us some pictures when you are happier with them, though

I do this and it is a really simple and inexpensive alternative that works beautifuly. I can't wait to see your pics Lisa! I love hair extentions, and just playing around with my hair in general. Have fun!

Yes, do post pictures, once you feel more comfortable with the look of them or your hairdresser helps to blend the look....how fun!
