So where I live is extremely humid sometimes; in the morning I use an anti-frizz serum before I blow-dry, flat iron it and use a flat iron spray, , use hair spray and an anti-frizz finishing spray and it's all smooth and looks good, I go outside and POOF it's a big puffy mess. HELP ME!!!

Where do you live? Based on what you are telling me you use, there should be no reason for your hair to do that. Also, what type of hair do you have?

Maybe try a SEDU iron, that's what I use. Or maybe a CHI. Those are the "anti-frizz" kind of irons.

I am very prone to frizzy poufy hair whenever there is humidity in the air.

In the winter I follow your hair routine.

In the summer, I find that the less I do to my hair, the better.

Yesterday, I soaked my hair in coconut oil for one hour.

Shampoo'd twice (to get out all the oil), conditioned.

After I got outof the shower, smooshed in some anti fizz lotion

I blow dryed my bangs, put the rest of my hair in a loose braid to air dry.

Today, I was outside doing lots of running around. Other than my hair being a little unruly, it looked pretty good - with a minimum of poufiness and no frizziness.

HealthySexyHair (I know, I "endorse" it a lot - thanks Janelle!) helps me out a lot. I don't know what it is about it. Also, it's possible that the constant heat from the irons and blow-dryer aren't helping. I mean, you're damaging your hair (even using sprays and serums), and it's only making it worse overall. At least IMHO. Once I laid off on using heating tools all the time, my hair got a lot better with humidity. Sometimes too, skipping a shampoo and conditioner a day or two can help as it allows the natural oils to "work magic" in their own way.

Everybody made really good points but Id like to add that Ive tried 3 anti frizz finishing sprays that claim they would provide hold, stop frizz, add shine and ALL of them made my hair frizz more than usual

Id sugest using the serum AFTER you blowdry and iron your hair, use a heat protectant BEFORE you start, cut out the hairspray that only saps moisture from your hair, and make sure your hairs moisturized well. From what I understand hair frizzes if the cuticle is dry and open and frazzled so its looking for more moisture and it draws it in from outside ie the humidity. Heat styling makes your hair like that so the healthier you keep it the less frizzies itll have.

Hope I helped

I'm afraid if your hair isn't well cared for, anti-frizz serum will do very little for it. Try focusing on your hair care regimen, and use plenty of caring, moisturising products, making sure you take the time to use them PROPERLY. Shampoo carefully, making sure you don't over cleanse. Comb the conditioner through, and leave it in for a couple of minutes. This may sound stupid, but doing it regularly really does make a huge difference. Do a treatment or hair mask at least once a fortnight, and trim your hair regularly. For styling, invest in a blow dryer that uses ion technology: this helps alleviate static in your hair, which is a huge aspect of frizz.

If your hair is particularly porous, it might just be absorbing the frizz serum: try a leave in conditioner as well, and always rinse your hair with cold water. Remember, product isn't everything: you have to look after your hair to truly combat frizz.

That said, if all else fails, it may be best to put your hair up on really humid days!

I have had good luck in the past with Paul Mitchell "Heat" and Matrix "sleek" light leave in. I don't really care for the Sleek shampoo, smells like a wet dog to me. I have short, natural curly hair and live in southern Georgia. So I know all about the humidity!

i have discovered a well conditioned hair resists more to humidity.

you may wanna check videojug, they made a video in which they give you tips on how to resist humidity.

being a WA state resident and moving from the midwest, i had no idea how to deal with humidity.

i finally finally did though.

i use paul mitchell's straight works straighting gel and victoria's secret so sexy high definition illumiating hair pomade (which is half off now cause of the semi annual sale).

just as long as i dont expose my hair directly to rain it still looks pretty damn good.

A good straightening Iron should keep away the puffyness and frizziness if used the right way..

try a chi or sedu

they are expensive but well worth the money if they are taken care of.

Stuff that works for other people won't always work for you... you just gotta try out different stuff and see what works for yourself. It is a pain though b/c it gets to be expensive, but that's the only way I know how. Sometimes other suggestions help though.
