I stumbled accross her videos a while ago, and this one is great. This lady has a really long hair, but really everyone can benefit from these tips. I used to do all the don'ts in hair washing, and my routine now is very close to her, it makes a big difference in your hair state.

she also has other tutorials on how to braid your hair, i find them helpful

I'm totally going to try this technique tonight. I'm totally guilty of shampooing and balling it up on my head, wringing it out like a towel =(. Maybe this will help my breakage

Oh yeah, thanks for posting that video! Good to know =)

Don't

You'll spend less time detangling, and don't wringle, and pat the towel on your hair. I have really reduced the amount of breakage and tangles on my lengths. Also use a comb to detangle your hair (i like the big combs, those looking like a big fork), no brush.

I have been doing it all wrong... I ball it up on my head making it tangle and then I use a wide toothed comb to comb my conditioner through and detangle my hair... I wring it out like a towel...

I will definitely be trying this out....

Yay I already do all of that. I kind of had to figure it out when I wanted to grow my hair out and it kept getting breakage. Now it's more than halfway down my back w/o problems =)

When I shampoo I don't throw my hair in a ball on the top of my head, I just massage it into my scalp. Good tips though, thanks.

thanks for posting the video hun

wow i totally washed my hair the wrong way i would like ball it up and it would always get so tangly afterwars. And I've been using waaaay to much shampoo.

I follow most of these, but I worked in a salon for a little while and picked up some of the habits of the girls who worked there.

I never ball up my hair, and I use just a small amount of shampoo on the roots. I am gonna try the squeegee thing though!

When I condition, I use a fairly small amount as well, for two reasons. One is that I find when I use too much, it weighs my hair down no matter how much I rinse. The other is that I have a pet peeve about running out of conditioner before shampoo. I just leave the conditioner in for a few minutes like she does.

I do wring my hair out a lot though, which is something I'm gonna stop doing now! Squeegee all the way!

Is it weird that I'm excited to wash my hair now?

I have been using this technique since seeing this and I really like the tips she gave....

Thanks for posting...

I use this technique, I do comb my conditioner through as well, it helps distribute it since mine is quite thick. I always go through my conditioner faster than the shampoo. My shampoo lasts about 3 moonths since I was told only to wash the scalp. Excellent tutorial!
