How to lighten hair color?

My natural hair is dark brown. I dyed my hair medium to light brown in november of last year at the salon. So today I dyed it dark brown. It is a little darker than I wanted. I want it to be medium brown. How can I lighten my hair and make it little less darker. Should I get light brown hair dye or ash dark blonde to make it lighter. Help Please I dont want to go to a salon and pay 90 dollars. Pelase Help!

We've got a few color experts here, so I'll leave it to them, but from my personal experience, the color will fade slightly within a week or two on it's own.

I've heard that adding lemon juice to you conditioner might help. Just be careful because it will dry your hair out

I would give it at least 2-3 weeks before you do anything. It still needs to oxidize, and tampering w/ the color now, can make the end results vary. It will fade a bit on it's own.
