I absolutely in love with their hairstyle, but despite my stubborn sleek straight hair, I've never had success with curling iron, scrunch gel, or braids. Did I miss something that I forgot to do or use? A tutorial guide would be highly appreciated. Thanks

I don't have a tutorial, but it's probably set in large rollers or wrapped around a large curling iron and then finger-combed out with a light amount of texturizing wax/pomade for the "piecey" look. Hope that helps.

i'd probably use a moss texturizer i'd apply with my fingers, like those used to give volume.

try something like sexy hair concepts 24/7....or some kind of heat setting curl spray........once your hair is dry you pick a section at a time spray it with the setting spray and curl it with a large barrel curling iron ...place the iron about 1-2 inches from the bottom of the hair and only roll about half way up the length of the piece...... ...do random pieces all over your head going this way and that......once you've got all the curls you want you use a serum or textuizer of some sort and rub it in your hands then rake it through your hair and tada!!!!!!!!! piecey beachy looking hair..........as the day goes on the more the curls will fall and the more piecey it will look!!!

the key is the heat setting spray on each piece right before you curl it!!!!!!

it looks like they have alot of choppy layers in there hair that has been texturize. choppy layers will give you that look

I got this from from Thehairstyler.com. It wasn't the exact same pic of the Olsen twins, but the hairstyle was pretty close.

1: Apply Mousse

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

2: Use A Large Radial Brush

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

3: Blow-dry The Back Under

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length?s, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

4: Blow-dry The Sides Under

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

5: Part The Middle

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

6: Use Large Hot Rollers

A large hot roller is used to give your hair a larger curl and to add lots of body.

7: Apply Hot Rollers To The Side

Take a section of hair no wider than the diameter of the hot roller and comb it through to ensure there are no knots. Place the roller at the ends of the section of hair, being sure to smooth the ends under, and then twist the roller vertically, making sure to roll it backwards, along the hair shaft to the roots and secure it with a pin or clip. Keep the rollers in your hair until they cool.

8: Apply Smoothing Shine

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

9: Apply Lacquer

Lacquer is great for strong hold. A small amount is all that is required to finish and should be applied from an arms length distance to the entire style.

I think those girls are so blessed that they roll out of bed, put in some mousse and walk out the door HAHA!

I use TiGi products to make my wavy hair kind of do that, but I can't say it always looks that good!

Thats really pretty. I love that look as well and have tried sooo many times to get my hair to do that but it just doesnt wanna work for me.

i loooove it.. but the problem is my hair is soo thin... and i believe it would look pretty in thick hair...

am i rit ???

thanks everyone for the great tips. however, i've yet tried to use the hot rollers (jumbo size) and the curls didn't last more than an hour and my hair is back to..well..stick straight :banghead: :scream3: :screams: i guess it just doesn't work for thick hair like mine...now i need to go run to the store and get those heat activated hair spray, or something like that and see if it'll does any good :eusa_pray:

if all else fails and the produts dont work you can change the texture of your hair by geting it cut into layers and have them texturize/thin your hair so that min effort is needed to achive this look

what i do is roll my hair in hot curlers and leave them in for like 15 min then take them out and unroll the curls, next i use my straigtener to go over the curls and that flattens them and makes them more like waves and then but texturizer in to get a piecy look or put some scrunching gel in and my hair looks just like that! hope that helps!!!
