Well, I wanna get a spiral perm, but after hearing tons of horror stories involving hairstylists and perms, and having experienced first hand some really bad hairstylists(I once went to a place with hair down to my mid back and asked for a trim and the girl took off about 8 inches - no joke! I'm a generous tipper but that day I felt like tipping her head off!) I want to find a place that is really really great but the city is pretty vast. Is there any way to find a good place without doing it by trial and error?

Sigh, I miss my old hairstylist :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> She was a magic woman when it came to hair. But she's back in newfoundland and I can't afford to send here here to do my hair :icon_lol:

how about just asking your friends/family around you if they know anyone?

by the way, i'm gonna move this to the hair forum, if that's okay :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Kee, does your area (Canada or Toronto) Have Citysearch? www.citysearch.com? It gives real reviews of hairstylists in each city from people who have gone there with comments. That's how I found my new hairdresser in the San Francisco Bay Area and boy, his salon is really the best...since there were over 1,000 hair stylist in the city alone......citysearch really helped me out.

Good luck finding someone :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I have the same problem, it's hard when your usual stylist leaves or you're new to an area (in which case there's nobody to ask for a recommendation!).

So...does any UKer know a decent stylist in Birmingham? :icon_lol: lol
