How did your makeup addiction start?

i think i've always been into all things beauty related, but it was about 4th grade when i found a blue cover girl eyeshadow my mom had and would sneak and wear it. i would rub my finger across it and rub it on my eyelids when i got to the corner of my street. bad girl! lol~

mine started as i've said in an old post, because i used to think butterflies would carry makeup on their wings. lol, i've always more or less wanted to wear those beautiful colors they had. then when i got acne and a sensitive skin i envied those women with impeccable skin. but i really started to build a collection when i discovered MuT

I would think jr.high school? But my mom says when I was six. I would always steal her vogue and bazaar magazines when they came in the mail, which of course mad her mad. And then one day, they were ALL gone. She came in my room and found me sitting in the middle of all of them crying. She asked what was wrong and I said "I can't do that", very upset. I had the magazines opened to faces and was trying to paint my face with watercolor. Had no clue what makeup was.

I would steal her makeup and practice on myself which lead to a trip to modeling school, which lead me to do makeup on the photo shoots...cosmetology school in high school, which lead me to my career... I don't remember the incident too well, but I do remember sitting there crying with all her magazines... hehe.

For a long time I've been thinking about totally making myself over into someone whos more glamorous so makeup is just part of that.

The makeup videos on youtube have inspired me alot though.

I have always been into makeup but was never really into into it(if that makes any sense) I did not become a fanatic till I took the classes and got my cert that really boomed me into fanatic mode. Now I can't stop!

My addiction started last year when I was in Miami and entered a Sephora store for the 1st time in my life.

I guess it started when I was a little kid. Mom sold Mary Kay, and I was always asking women if I could borrow their lipstick! LOL... looking back that was kind of gross.

Anyway. I didn't really get into makeup until I got close to graduating from college and getting a job. I'm def. hooked on Stila... I need to branch out, though. The only non-Stila I use everyday are UDPP and Fluidline.

MUT has contributed to my addiction bigtime.

When I was in preschool, my mom bought me lipstick to bring to show and tell. That was it. MUT added to my obsession though, like you wouldn't believe.

It started when I was 17 and I realized I had a talent for putting on eyeliner.

I started using lip gloss when I was twelve & eyeliner a year later. It was only when I was sixteen that I came across a MAC store (Mum was looking for a nice blue eye shadow). After seeing the price of one e/s ( $32AUD!! ), I came home and eBay'd MAC. The rest is history! I've also seen some of the ladies on the Vogue forums selling MAC make-up & purchased some pigment samples. As they say, the rest is history

Well, I kinda started dabbling at about 13-14 with clear mascara, since that's all my mom would let me use. By 15 I was using clear mascara, black liner on my waterline, and some gloss. Around 18-19 I got into e/s and stuff, and discovered Clinique. At some point I started "collecting" MK, and then once I joined MuT in February of 2006, it was all on full-blown from there LOL! MAC, Clinique, NARS, Stila, etc... Whew!

ohh i'd have to say my addiction began as a baby when I could finally walk and rifle to through my mom's and aunts purses for makeup. I really did like how that red lipstick looked on me ....lol

ummm it started i think when i was a senior in hs or a freshmen in college.

i didnt have much of an option since i wasnt near anything like mac or something. then i moved to the seattle region, and discovered this site.

and now what used to only be like one drawer of all my make up, is now a little wooden dresser i have full of it.

Ever since I was 13, I've always been trying different combinations of every makeup product I owned. It was just so magical seeing how it could make me look like the sex kitten version of myself with the flick of the wrist and then having a grown-up version of me with just a different shade of lipgloss!

I really don't know how it started. In high school, colorful nail polish was trendy, and I started doing my nails in all sorts of crazy colors. Had such a collection (which probably needs to be thrown out now, it is still sitting somewhere). I performed on stage, so acquired some heavy makeup for stage performances. And from them, it has just gone downhill. Fun part is that most of the time I don't even wear makeup, but I have tons of fun when I do.
