I recently tried this quick easy formula for shiny hair I saw in Marie Claire. Just take an avocado (which is good for your hair) and mix it with a Tbsp of olive oil and a tsp of baking powder. Work this mixture into dry hair and let it sit for 15 mins. After rinsing, apply a firm styling and finishing spray, I've switched to creative professional products as of lately. As you blow dry your hair it will help create the "blown back" effect. Use some bobby pins to pin back loose ends or for the perfect bump.

Is it baking powder or baking soda?

I think it should be baking soda

This is general formula which I use on my hairs-

Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to your rinse water after shampooing; Add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to rinse water after shampooing for brunettes and redheads. Massage olive oil into your hair, wrap with towel and leave it overnight. Wash it out in the morning. Once a week should do it. Mix 4 cups of warm water and 1 teaspoon of honey. Pour it into your hair after shampooing. Let it air dry. Apply mayonnaise to dry hair and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo as usual. Lightly beat two eggs in milk and massage them in your hair thoroughly. Rinse after five minutes. Cold water rinsing makes your hair look shinier as it closes and smoothens the hair cuticle. Heat activated shampoos and weekly deep conditioning for your hair keep them glossy.

Hmmm. I know my hair feels lighter and softer. Bounce and volume - I'm not sure what those terms mean, lol!

I recently tried a shot glass worth of vodka and honey.  I added a few drops of my fave essential oil.  Rinsed after 20 minutes.  It's amazing.  Gave my hair a lasting shine.

Rice bran oil will also have Ferulic acid properties in it as well... you'd be able to use it in skin creams if you want.

I recommend a website called madefromearth. It shows all products that were made from organic materials. Its the best way to avoid products from ruining your hair.

Any site that promotes or uses "organic honey" is full of you know what.

There is no such thing as organic honey - there is no way to know for sure if the bee pollinated with an organic plant or not.

I actually put olive oil in my dogs food and it makes her coat pretty shiny. Never thought of using it as a topical solution on my hair. I usually use either Its a 10 or Rusk for my hair treatment and styling. I know those have a lot of chemicals but they do the trick. This way sounds like a good option though of for saving some money?!? I'm going to try this method out... thanks!
