Hi!!

I am new, and just wanted to say hello!!

I currently color my hair at home using Goldwell Topchic. I use 6NN & 6G with a 20V dev.

I have been eyeing the Ion Brilliance line at Sallys beauty. There seem to be some beautiful colors. I am wondering what everyone's thoughts are. The other line I was checking out was the Optimum line there too. The reduced breakage appeals to me. I have Crohn's disease, and unfortunatley, my hair is more prone to breakage:ill: than before I was sick.

I did try to do a number of searches, so I am sorry if this has already been compared.

Thanks again!!!:Newbie:

welcome to mut!

i dont know much about the colors at salley but i myself would stick with goldwell if you are only useing 20 volume there shouldnt be any breakage

how much developer are you gonna use with the optimum

Ion has really good color. The line is actually fairly conditioning to your hair.

The optimum is directed towards ethnic people so it's probably gonna be pretty gentle too.

If you're worried about breakage, maybe try a semi or demi color?

I use Ion Brilliiance and I'm really happy with it, my color stays true for a pretty long time compared to others...

Thanks everyone for the help!!!

I wont go any higher than a 20v lift bx I am only going about 1~2 shades lighter than my natural color. There is no need for a higher lift, and would really only cause more damage.

I def. need to stick to a permanent color though. Since I have been sick, I am more than 40% grey!!! I love Goldwell, but I really like the idea of just going to the store, and grabbing my color instead of online.

Thanks for the clarification of the Optimum line. I was intrigued bx of the "reduced breakage" on the web.

I had strayed from Goldwell last spring & summer, and used Loreal Excellence cream 5.3 with 20v, and kept my hair up all the time. I had been using the new Scunci no slip grip hair clips. Loved them. but by the Fall, I had so much breakage that back to Goldwell, no more clips. I just use the regular clip now. That is how brittle my hair can be.

Thanks again for all of the help and info!!!

Renee
