Help with hair style?

Well i literally just joined like a minute ago, so hi. And please forgive me if i screw this up but anywaysss...

I'm 15 and i dislike my current hair style. It used to suite me very well, but now it just sorta hangs there. And i feel like i need to change, maybe get my hair thinned? anyway i can pretty much cut my hair however i want, but my mother is 100% against dyes or extensions.

But yeah i need some idea's because next year I want a new refreshed look and i feel like my hair is just kinda sucking it self dry. it's not really doing anything except hanging there.

my hair is golden blonde (almost white) in front and then it slowly goes to dark brown. but overall i would say sorta like a golden/dirty blonde hair.

i've always liked it better put up.

So as you can see, not only does it hang there but I have to use a straightener to look decent. I need some ideas for new hairstyles and what to do with my hair. I would like to grow it out but i don't have enough time before high school.

hmm. Maybe get layers to frame the face, and cut a bit shorter? or you could make it look different with blunt bangs or side bangs...
