Sorry if there is already a topic on this - I am at work and am not supposed to be on here (shhh!). I need some serious help with my oily face. I go through about three oil blotting sheets during my work day. This is including some matifying products I've tried. (mostly in the form of moisturizers and powders). Nothing helps! It is such a terrible feeling because I feel like I can actually feel the oil forming and sitting on my face! Yuck!

Please, what tell your tips and suggestions for keeping the oil at bay!

Have you tried switching up your skincare routine?  The Oil Cleansing Method really helped with my oil-problems, so maybe if you tried something new, it would work for you.

Also, I do NOT recommend MAC Oil Control Lotion.

I found that forgoing moisturizer in favor of a mattifying sunscreen like this one from Coola (http://www.coolasuncare.com/mineral/sunscreen-spf-30-tint-mineral) has helped a ton.  I know that they say even oily skin needs moisture and such, but I couldn't find one that worked for me without making my skin oilier.  My skin isn't exactly crying out for moisture and all that I tried just seemed to make things worse.  Sometimes though, if your skin is dry and needs moisture, it will produce more oil trying to combat the dryness.  So, only you know your skin and how it reacts.  If it feels dry and/or tight after washing, you probably need moisture (or are using too harsh of a cleanser) and may make things worse by skipping one.

Edited to Add:  I have also found that a minimalist approach works best for my skin.  There are so many products out there and each claims to do so much.  The more I put on my face, the oilier it became.  So, combine or skip things if you can.  Instead of a moisturizer, sunscreen and a primer (which is what I used to do), find an all-in-one product or skip some.

eughhh me too i hate the feeling of it! so gross, i use Jeunesse and it has helped with my oily skin, it removes the dead skin and unclogs my pores so the oil doesn't build up, it's so good stuff :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i think i got mine here 4anewme.jeunesseglobal.com :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hope that helps

Oh no...I know this is such a problem, I have an oil issue too, but I have managed to keep it at bay just by using products specifically designed for oily skin. Since it is just my Tpanel that is oily I used combination skin products which did not help. I needed something more effective on this oil strip!

Start with a face cleanser for oily skin - go for neutrogena or alpha hydrox face wash.

remember to use a moisturizer for oily skin as well. I at some stage thought my oily skin would only get worse with a moisturizer but I slowly but surely started using it to try and teach my face that I was taking control of this and that my skin did not need to secrete its own moisture. Night time was the most important for me!

If you can find a nice mask that PEELS off instead of washes off, these help to keep the moisture locked in.

Ok, so we have cleanser and moisturizer. Then remember your foundation and make up is the most important thing. the moisturizer soaks in but its the make up that has to take the beating from the constantly secreting oil glands!

Oily skin can really benefit from using primers. Go for one of the smashbox products. They are really top quality and have excellent reviews. I use ben nye banana powder as a setting powder as well. It's a highlighter so take it easy.

All of these products are designed for oily skin and to take the constant secretion of oil for at least 8 hours running, some of them promise up to 12 hours!

Good luck

Thanks for all of the suggestions! You guys rock!

I will start slowly trying a few of these suggestions over time and see what helps with the oil - wish me luck!

I love love Mary Kay Oil Control Lotion formula 3. I used it when I was going through puberty and it worked like magic, keeping oil at bay while  not drying at all. I don't use it anymore since my skin has moved from oily to normal, but I would recommend it for anyone with serious oil problem. It's pretty cheap and I like its smell too
