Have you helped provide or make up young dancers or others who use stage makeup? I know I used to help a teen that was in a local ballet company. Since using the stage makeup, she very seldom wears day to day makeup.

So, what have been your experiences with stage makeup or friends/family that may have used it?

Theatrical Make-up! In the late 90's a few Make-up Artists including myself were hired by a modern dance troupe. We used a water-based cake make-up, as it stood up to the rigours the dancer's performance and the high heat, as they all sweated a LOT. We used towels to dab their sweat, and any touch ups we did were very minimal usually around the corners of their mouths.

The show was only on for 1 week, 2 performances a day. I haven't worked in the theatre since as there is no money it for make-up artists. I remember getting a tip from two performers, I believe they were a total of 8-10 performers... it was a awhile ago.

Typically actors or performers in the theatre do their own make-up. And I don't know what type or brand they use. However most modern make-ups, regardless of brand, stand up quite well to everyday conditions.
