I am having serious stress with my hair at the moment. Right at the back of my head my hair always gets really knotty and tatty, it is driving me mad as sometimes it sticks out and i look like a female Russel Brand...which isn't exactly the look I'm going for!!! (if you don't know who he is than you are lucky- there is a pic below for reference!)

Its really strange as i have tried everything from intensive conditioning to hot oils? My hair is just below my shoulder blades, healthy and i rarely straighten it? I have to brush it constantly and it really hurts trying to brush it out. Its only right at the back of my head? My boyfriend tried to run his fingers through my hair the other day and he was lucky to get his hand back! lol. Its driving me mad!

Heres a pic of how i DON'T want my hair to look!!

LMAO!!!!! that pic really made me laugh

do you have it all the time? or just when you've been to sleep and wake up? i always wake up with matty hair, it's so annoying. maybe try combing conditioner through it to detangle without loads of pain and then put it up?

Urgh, it does it ALL the time. If i dont keep an eye on it the back fluffs up and sticks out, its especially bad in the mornings but still happens throughout the day. That picture of Russell Brand sends shivers down my spine as it looks so similar to my hair if i forget to check on it! Maybe i am his spiritual twin?

Ive been putting it up recently for work but as soon as my hair is down its back to the Brand do'. Its so strange, its only been doing this for a few months?

god that sounds weird.

i don't know, maybe gina (hairego) will step in and offer some advice!

Its longish- to just below my shoulder blades and straight. It tatts up at the nape of my neck and just above on the back of my head. Its like its really dry- but i dont straighten my hair at all really and i condition it regularly? It's so strange. Mysterious hair! If anyone knows of any miracle conditioners maybe that would help?

That pic startled me!! Lol

My wife used to have an area of her hair in the back that was always knotted and frizzy... And I really can't remember what she did to get rid of it.. I think she got all her hair cut off!

Ohhhh no! I dont think chopping off my hair is an option!! Maybe i shall just have to resign myself to the fact i am slowly morphing into Russell Brand...soon i shall start dressing and talking like an old-fashioned eccentric English gentleman, call man parts a 'winkie', become an insatiable womaniser of Casanova proportions and my big bad hair will be my crowning glory. Noooooooooooooooo!!!!

Best suggestion is to spray a leave in detangler before you go to sleep and then again when you wake up..When I wear my hair straight, my hair gets tangles really easily, but thats becuase of the sheer length of my hair (to the small of my back). If detangling sprays arent working, put a bit of serum (biosilk, biologe smoothing serum, chi silk infusion) into the hair when its dry...since all of these are oil based it should prevent the hair from tangling due to friction. You may also want to try Biologe Detaangling soulution

I agree with HairEgo. I don't have it now but I use
usabeautysupplies_2045_11479692
when my hair goes crazy.

Thank you- i will have to check those products out. Anything that will stop the Brand hair! Oh and the pain of having to brush it out!
