I might even have read this on here, but just in case it wasnt, I learned to spray roots of hair with hairspray and take your fingers and rub in tiny circles till dry. This gives volume at the roots. It really works for me and I have the flattest, thinnest hair ever. Hope this helps.

Lately I've been thinking about how to give the roots more volume. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the tip - I use a light hairspray on my roots - then blow dry, but I think I'll try this and not blowdry this weekend. I've been trying to get away from heat on my hair because it is so dried out from coloring.

Oooo great tip! Also, it heaps if you blowdry your hair while your head is upside down, kinda tricky though!

Are you supposed to spray the hairspray when your hair is still wet from washing it.. or after you dry your hair?

Well, since I try to to blow dry my hair very often, i usually just style my hair then put the hairspray on the roots and use my fingertips to swirl it, or put in on my roots right before I style it. I haven't tried it wet, it might work.

thanks for the tip! kind of like teasing the roots, except without the comb! hair spray is such a great tool for those of us who lack volume!

i had to go extreme to get volume : i got a haircut. lol. i try also when i comb my hair not to do it starting from the roots, but rather going up and only comb the length.

i agree hairspray is a great tool.

Teasing is the only technique I use. Sure everything else works but teasing ALWAYS gives me the results I am looking for.
