I have fine hair which is also oily, but here is the thing, I get frizzies and static even when I condition. I do blow dry my hair everyday which I shouldn't. I've just about had it with my hair and I am ready to shave it off. Anyone else experiencing this? Any recommendations? Thanks!

Have you tried using a leave-in conditioner and serum? Use both only on the ends, not the scalp. John Frieda is a good line, but use sparingly so they are not too heavy on your fine hair.

Yeah, try some serum or leave in conditioner or perhaps you could stop hair drying your hair for a while.

Infusium Leave-In - Original

It is a great product it leaves my hair quite silky..

I'd try to cut back on blowdrying if possible. Or at least let it air dry and then run the blow dryer through your hair. Definitely using a leave-in treatment and frizz serum helps. I love HealthySexyHair leave-in, and John Freida Frizz-Ease is great for the ends.

A leave in or serum....experiment to see if your hair can take just one or both without getting greasy. And when you are blowdrying, aim down so you dont aggitate the hair anymore which makes it frizzy. I think Janelle has advice on here about how to blow dry your hair properly.

Thanks guys for all the great advice.

I will try the John Frieda because I noticed they have a formulation for fine hair. And I will try to stop using the blow dryer everyday, it will be hard...I am so addicted to that thing.

This article came from Paula Begoun. I received it in my email newsletter today.

"Struggling with fine, limp hair isn't easy. It turns out the less you do to fine hair, the better off it is. Anything that contains conditioners or styling agents just adds weight that drags hair down. Consider a shorter cut and then color it. Hair color adds thickness to thin hair because it roughs up the cuticle, which creates artificially induced, but natural-looking, volume. Then all you have to do is use a gentle shampoo, period! The slight stiffness you get from not using a conditioner can also give you all the body you need. Give it a try. If you need to smooth things in place or reduce fly-aways, take an anti-cling sheet from your dryer and rub it over your hair. You can also spray a tiny bit of hair spray on your fingertips and work them through the ends of your hair. This may be just what your hair is looking for."

Hope Paula's words can offer some help. Personally, I think she is great.

Thanks cw1 for your post. Great info!

I guess ‘tis true what they say, the simpler the better!

A good leave in helps... also I like to spray Static Guard (yes, the kind for clothes lol) on a brush & brush it through & it usually gets rid of any static & flyaways without weighing my hair down. :0
