eating healthy and taking a multivitamin daily are good for your whole body. ecspecially salmon, leafy greens, and plenty of water. i've heard that eating seaweed helps but i'm not sure about the sugar thing. you can get seaweed supplements if you don't like eating it. have you tried a deep conditioning/repairing treatment once a week? that would help. it's hard to tell what could be damaging your hair...as it could be from heating tools, wind, split ends, etc. always use a protective treatment when you use hot tools, like vo5's or tresemme heat tamer. as for the volume issue, i have the same problem...here are my tips:
-use volumizing mousse or root lifter
-don't use products that weigh your hair down, or use too much product
-there are different ways to create texture...if you don't like scrunching with gel or curling irons, you can try rollers. there are hot rollers, steam, foam rollers, etc.
-a nice way to make tousled waves is to put one big braid in the back of your hair when it's damp and leave it in overnight, and apply some hairspray you will wake to messy but pretty waves.
-an above the shoulder cut or layers will create some volume
hope this helps!
