This is driving me up the wall now, my hairs started to get greasy quite quickly...I only washed it yesterday and underneath is starting to get a little greasy.

Is there any shampoos/home remedies that enyone know of?

Thank you

Using a clarifying shampoo, wash your hair every couple days at least. You'll know your hair is clean when it "squeaks" and all traces of added residue are removed.

Only use a dime-sized amount of conditioner. Alternatively, don't use conditioner at all, or use it infrequently, say, once a week. If your hair is longer, just use the conditioner on the length (say, from the ears down) and keep it off your scalp.

Be choosy about the styling products you use. Don't use too much or you'll weigh your hair down and residue could accumulate. Stay away from gloppy gels, because they will make your hair look greasy when it's not!

Try a product like CitraShine or Garnier Fructis to add extra shine to your hair.

Brush your hair regularly since this helps distribute a glossy sheen throughout your tresses.

Rinse your hair with cold water. Warm or hot water starts to form oils immediately, and will make your hair frizzy.

Cut split ends of hair. It will help keep your hair from becoming more damaged. It will appear thicker and strong. Also, If you don't do it sooner you'll have to cut off more of it later. (split ends get worse!)

You can use baby powder or other types of powder to make your hair look less greasy by rubbing it in to your roots, but don't put too much in so that people can see whiteness on your hair.

ditto !! Aprill said it. use conditioner moderately and preferably on the ends, rinse with cold water rather than warm, neutral/clarifying shampoo, and try to wash your hair every 2 or 3 days if you can.

gel or hairsprays and usually volume shampoos only make your hair greasy so avoid them too.

cut split ends if you have some, it will give some boost to your hair and it will allow it to "breathe". and managing split ends is time consuming.

I only condition the ends and use Stilla hair powder (I think it's basically baby powder, but it smells soo good) if I get greasy. I think Bumble and Bumble makes hair powder that is brown, so you don't have the white mess on your roots. You can try cornstarch also.

Ive noticed after I used baking soda with my shampoo it got rid of the buildup making it get greasy slower. Use a small amount of baking soda (no more than a teaspoon) and 2x the amount of shampoo and lather and massage it into your scalp. Wait maybe a minute and rinse. Makes the buildup go away--therefore less greasy hair for some ppl like myself

I have the same problem. I wash my hair today, style it, whatever, tomorrow evening it's already looking greasy and if I don't wash it right the next day it's already completely greasy. Ugh.

i have that problem.

i use paul mitchell's shampoo two.

and condition only the ends of my hair.

I've had the oiliest hair forever. It's better now that I am bleaching it. Even that didn't stop it. I've never found anything that will stop my oil. I just wash my hair everyday. It's better for me anyway. My hair just doesn't style correctly unless it's just been washed.

I can wash it at night if I roll it. I roll my hair wet. If my hair is rolled up it can't get messed up while sleeping. I still have to wash it that night or the next morning. It won't make it to the next day. It will be a mess.

Shall go and buy a better shampoo and also I'll try the baking soda LaItaliana. Yeah I use dry shampoo now and again.

Thanks for tips girls

If you have oily light coloured hair you can use baby powder to temporarily soak up the oils. Do you have fine hair? If you do use a volumizing shampoo and only condition mid-shaft and below because greasiness happens if it is applied to the roots, it also -- I've heard-- is not good for your scalp. If a volumizing shampoo doesn't work use a clarifying shampoo. Herbal Essences Drama Clean has a nice smelling clarifying shampoo.

clarifying shampoo will just perpetuate the problem. stripping your scalp of all it's sebum on a regular basis will just cause your scalp to make sebum in larger amounts. yuck.

use a gentle shampoo and keep the conditioner off your scalp. this is much better for your hair too, since clarifying shampoo will dry out your hair if you're using it everytime you wash your hair. GL, hope you find something that works.

Awesome suggestion. I've heard that after using this method to follow up with a rinse of Apple Cider Vinegar.

you could also try rhassoul. it's a clay from Morocco you can use on your hair and skin. you just have to put one tablespoon in a ramequin with some water, then apply the paste on your hair and leave it for 10 minutes before rinsing. it washes and absorbs all the excess oil. and wet, it takes the color of sand, brings back memories of childhood holidays spent on the beach

you can also do that with green clay, btw, but i didn't like it much myself, too thick perhaps.
