Hi there!!!

I have been dying my naturally dirty blonde hair chocolate brown for 8 years now and finally have decided to return to my blonde roots, however i had a disaster when i tried to go blonde with a gradual fading effect root to tip that went from bright blonde to orange and then brown!!! I dyed it back chocolate brown immediately but I have since left it and painstakingly not dyed my hair to let it fade, this was over 3 months ago and I now have golden brown hair with kinda different coloured roots where its faded and ligtened in the sun. I would love to dye it blonde but im scared. will it be ok because its been so long since dyed? or am i to go orange again???? Help!!! My sisters wedding is soon!!!

honestly, i would just go to a salon for this kind of change. when darkening, at-home dyes are easy, but lightening is a whole different story. its worth the extra money to have it done right the first time so you dont damage your hair unnecessarily. i hope this helps!

I agree about going to a salon. And blonde is so hard to look after. If you are really pinched for cash though I would bleach/peroxide it first and use a toner in it then put a blonde dye through it - like a number 1 or whatever shade of blonde you wanted to go. I'd get a trim after though, because your ends will probably be pretty dry. Get a toning shampoo and condition (or just a conditioner, they can be pricey), and this should help maintain your hair and help stop the copper/orange colour coming through. :]

I'd go to a salon too. Especially if you've tried to lighten it once and had bad results.
