Hair dryer gone wrong

So here's how you know you need a new hair dryer....

My dryer has started to really go lately, losing more and more power all the time. And then the other night I was blowdrying my hair and using a round brush... and I was trying to get the dryer a little closer to my head because it was barely giving any juice... and I BURNED my hair and scalp!

I felt this really sharp heat, and then I put the dryer down and there were all these little whitish-blonde looking bits of hair on the top of my head (my hair is light-medium brown). I tried to pick most of them off but they are still a little noticeable!

Needless to say, I'm in the market for a new dryer now...

Anyone else have any hair tool horror stories or mishaps?

My friend burned her eyebrows off once trying to light a cigarette she had snuck on the stove. It was horrible and funny all at once.

I've clamped fingers and an ear with my GHD. I cannot explain the PAIN! OUUUCCHHH! It's a pretty intense pain, gotta pay attention at all times when straightening!

i STOOD on my ghds once. so that one plate went under my foot and the other plate on the top, like i was straightening my foot. i cant describe to you how loud i screamed. very very hot. and i've done my ear with them too, that's an awful one.

ive had the same hair dryer for about 8 years now and it's still working amazingly. it's a fransen. it still gets hot and never cuts out, i can't recommend it more!

The same hair dryer for EIGHT years?! O.O

I've had probably three or four dryers in that time! Granted I was a teenager for many of those years with a limited budget so a lot were cheapie dryers. I'm saving up so my next one can be better quality!

Burned my neck with curly iron,left a mark and remember when we lied and said hickies were from the blow dryer,lol people did think this mark was a hickey,husband was looking at it like hmmmmm!that was not funny!

not sure if fransen are international or not but if you can find a way to get hold of a fransen dryer, you'll have one for 8 years too! lol
