I find that jojoba oil is much more effective at MU/dirt removal than EVOO or EVOO + Castor oil. It's also less thick and much easier to wash off.

hmmm...i should try jojoba oil. i have never tried the olive oil/castor oil mixture, but i do use dhm's cleansing oil - have used it for over a year now and love it! my skin looks so much better since i've used an oil cleanser! i have been thinking about just getting my own olive oil from the store and trying it, but have been afraid it would break me out or be too heavy or something. maybe i should save my dollars and cents! while dhc cleansing oil is great, and lasts a long time, it does add up. if you can use the stuff out of your cubbard, why not? if you can use it and you have oily skin, i should be able to use it on my drier skin. thanks for the tip!

You might want to reduce the castor oil a tad. I had this problem at first when I tried the mixture with 75% castor oil. I'm down to 50% castor oil and I think it still does a great job.

I've used both as well. Perhaps it's because I use mineral makeup, but it seems to really get the makeup (mascara and everything) off well. My pores don't appear as noticable either. Right now, I'm using the EVOO (50%) + castor oil (50%)and the mixture is not that thick. In the hot shower, it's pretty easy to remove with a washcloth. I use the jojoba after cleansing to moisturize though.

This really is one of the best things I have ever tried! I now tell EVERYONE that I run into to do it if they have oily skin  It's very inexpensive too. A little advice though, if you have a lot of this mixture made up, you might want to put a vitamin E capsule in it or something like rosemary oil to help preserve it. Rancid oil is stinky oil!

wow this seems to be what ive been looking for all along! im going to try this tommorow and post back how it worked for me!

Alright..I am gonna do this tonight...I use castor oil on my eyelashes nowadays..and they are super thick and healthy..just a bonus to washing the MU off my eyes with it too now!!
