I thought I'd let everyone know that I'm going to once again try and grow my hair out. I would love to hear tips about how you deal with growing pains. Whether it's cute clips, headbands, or something adventurous. Please share!
Deep condition and oil your ends like crazy. The more moisture you have on your ends, the less likely they will be to split, then you'll have to get a trim or cut. Also try wearing the hair up some, so the ends are even more protected.
layers and a fringe (bangs). These thing allow you to change your style without taking length off. I have a lot of experience with growing my hair out (after bad cuts, that had to be snipped quite short to look decent), but will never do this again. Good luck. It's worth it in the end.
im letting my hiar grow to. I went from black to WHITE platinum blonde and fried the CRAP-O-LA out of my hair. SO Im on the same boat as you. How long is your hair? Good luck growing
I'm trying to grow out dye. I'll probably grow it down to hips then cut off the dyed portion, so it will probably be cut back to bra strap length. Then I'll grow down to my waist again, which is the length I like /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> It's going to take years though. Coconut oil is good for keeping splits at bay (less splits equal less trims) -use lots for a deep treatment overnight and wash out with a gentle shampoo, or use a tiny amount and smooth over your hair and ends to tame frizzies and make it shiny.
Try massaging you scalp, some people say it stimulates faster growth -that's not proven, but can't hurt to try and it feels nice.
Oh and wear your hair up as much as possible if you can, it protects it and it pulls it out of the way so you don't have to think about it and how long it's taking to grow.
I agee with krazy ive heard about massaging your scalp stimulates growth and also use lots of conditioner on the ends of your hair and if your going to be straightening or blow drying use a hear protector. The healthier you keep it the easier it is to grow as you wont have to keep having it trimmed although a small trim every 6-8 weeks is reccommended, if you do get split ends as removing the dead hair also stimulates growth! While its growing just experiment with loads of styles putting it up, using clips ect.
I'm with you!! I went from spikes to almost my shoulders. I went in and asked for a trim and i'm now back to spikes. My only option is cute clips or headbands. I'm still kicking myself for going to a beauty salon that wasn't my regular salon. Now I have swore off going to another one EVER! Of course i'll end up in one, but not for a while LOL
Same here......my hair was almost to my waist and then i cut it neck length. Now its almost to my shoulders. Im at that in between stage now. but i just keep it condtioned and keep it up. but that in between stage is a monster though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I completely agree with withoutyou. Whenever I try to grow out my hair I always mess around with the color, it's a whole new look without cutting it. You don't even have to use a permanent die, just a semi or demi!
